Thanks Stein , This is the link that I have, ... from there I got the information about the shops in Madrid, ... so far 5 of 17 told me they do not sell the vinyl ... I thought it would be easier to have it, but this seems like an obstacle course I'm waiting for more answers.

I've contacted my local record shop and he sells it. Only thing is that I nearly got a heartattack when he told me the price; €22,-!! For a maxi single with only 3 songs

Apparently the mix was produced by Kevin Shirley and the track length is 4:57. That's all I know so far. No record stores in the northern part of Norway are participating in Record Store Day, so I haven't been able to get a copy. I did ask a friend of mine who lives in Oslo if he could get a copy, but unfortunately it was sold out.

Well I've listened to it a couple of times now and I dare to say that it is NOT a remix but a completely new recording! All instruments sound to me as if they're newly recorded. The song starts like the single version from '86, so with the drum intro. After that it's like you listen to them playing the song live in concert. And it's plain obvious to me that at least Joey's voice, Norum's guitar and Ian's drums are very different compared to the original recording. Different rhythmguitar and solo parts, different vocal melody lines and different drum fills. I think they've used the Geico recording for this release to be honest. Which is great imho! They also use the live ending to the song like we've known since 1986. Which is a first time on a studiorecording if I'm right.

Thank you vielip! So apparently it is the version they used for the Geico commercial. The press release for the TFC 30th Anniversary Tour and single did state that it would be a "new 2016 recording of The Final Countdown", so that is a bit misleading. How are the vocals?

Well if it's a 2016 recording maybe they mean that they remixed the Geico version? Joey's vocals are nowhere near the original recordings. It's downtuned as we've become to know since the reunion. No problem at all for me. If I'm paying €22,- I rather have something completely new

I know what you mean but no, it's definitely not in the original key. Oh and by the way you were right; it was mixed by Kevin Shirley and mastered by Bob Ludwig.
