Were you able to greet John Norum ? What did you think about him? Is kind to the fans ? I need someone's opinion with criteria ... This was quite unfortunate. In fact there were two different queues on the stage, one for Tempest and one for Norum, but Joey was quicker while John was besieged by 3 or 4 people already when Joey passed my paper to him. When I went to retrieve my paper, I was in front of John, but to speak to him I should have passed over the others. I tried a quick word, but he was dazed and then one of the organizers again took my paper and asked me if it was mine, like saying "you must go now..." I would have liked to speak to John as well, and pay him in person my congrats for his newborn son (I guess many people did anyway!). I have been really impressed by John. I have always thought of him as a very handsome man, but while I was prepared to get bewitched by Joey, I must say that John has got a very similar outstanding presence!

Hi Michaela, thanks for your report that made me feel there and remember when I met them few years ago in Rome (great experience). This time I missed because I had to work. How many people were there?

Thanks Michaela, ... that complicated to me ! , if I had been there, I wouldn't know to chose the line of people ... How to choose? Norum the great magician of the guitar or Tempest the amazing singer! God that hard ... ! ent: this thread is called "EUROPE IN ITALY" I think could be interesting also to know your experience in Rome with the guys. Was it a meet & greet? What did you think? (only if you like ...)

ent: this thread is called "EUROPE IN ITALY" I think could be interesting also to know your experience in Rome with the guys. Was it a meet & greet? What did you think? (only if you like ...) Well, it was during the SS tour. They came to Rome for a concert. In the afternoon an Italian fan club had organized a “meet & greet” at the Hard Rock Cafè in Via Veneto. I went there for lunch and remember that they had modified their menu, changing the name of the dishes to relate them to the Europe-world. I still have that menu and maybe later I can post a picture of it because it was quite funny. Later all the band arrived and sit at this long table. All monitors were broadcasting the Live from the dark and the Rock the night DVD’s. The fans formed a queue (a long one) for meeting the band and get their memorabilia signed. I only wanted to shake their hands and simply say thank you to them (and take their signature on my copy of the SS Cd). There were many people so I didn’t imagine to have the chance to take pictures or exchange more words. When I got to the table I was quite nervous, dry mouth and trembling hands. Consider that they were (and still are) my teen idols, I grew up with their music when I had the age to understand what music was. I never had the chance to meet or see a concert at the countdown times and that had been a big regret during the hiatus time (considering that I didn’t know it was only a pause). Well I took the signs from Ian and John L. While I was in front of Mic the queue stopped a little and I found the courage to ask Mic “how are you”? I know it sounds childish but I didn’t expect any answer and that’s way I was shocked when he told me “Fine”. NOT ONLY. He also asked me “And you?” And I thought: “now this is great. How can he care about how I feel. I mean, he’s one of my heroes, it’s normal that I care about him. Why the hell shoud he care about me???”. Well, I didn’t find anything better than answering “fine, thanks”. And that was it. I shaked the hands with John N. and Joey. And the turn was complete. When I got out of the Cafè I felt like I had visited another world. I went back to a world were you don’t see Europe videos on TV and don’t hear Europe songs at the radio. Where nobody offers you a “rock the night cheeseburger” or know that, yes, they still play. A sadder world. But I had my day.

I think we should open a thread where we go telling all those moments spent in our meetings with the band. It's fun. Really, I'm reading your words and I have a smile of excitement as if somehow I was there. I can't imagine one situation where Mic,"our Mic" someday could tell me "how are you?" OMG!! I lived a similar situation with Joey, it was in a radio presentation in Madrid of "a place to call home" he was so kind with the fans, but when I stayed in front of him I couldn't react in time; I was speechless, I couldn't say anything , it was like I was seeing God hahahaha!! maybe next time I can tell him at least: how are you ? Please, when you can, would be great to see the photo with the "EUROPE menu" of that day ...
