I think this is a bad move, there are other ways of giving to charity. These bands are regarded as a joke in England. No-one takes them seriously in any way. By the time this comes round Europe will have released more Albums in 2000's than the 80's. They have worked so hard to lose the cheesy 80's tag, this will put them right back to that in one GIG. DON'T DO IT EUROPE.

That was my first thought also. It would've been cool if it was with more rock and metal bands from the 80's. But this is plain awful and a bad move I think

I agree with the guys above. Given that WtE will be released around the same time this gig commences, it's kinda differently proportional, and a not a good way to kick off an era of a new, potentially eponymous album. I don't wanna badmouth any of the lineup artists, but I think Europe nowadays are few scales above the 'competition', both in quality and consistency. Many, if not most of them, are dragging on their past glory. Although I think it won't cause any permanent damage (the English crowds are quite familiar with the new Europe), still it's not a good move, not even if it's a charity, but we'll see what happens.

I agree with the previous comments, I don't understand this movement. Does anyone understand? All my respect to the bands that attend, but it sounds like a "reunion of old glories" and EUROPE is not there, in that level, it's an old glorie, EUROPE is present and future . The day before the release of the album ? I don't understand, have been trying for years to leave the image of the 80s behind and go to this concert? I understand that the charity part is very attractive and I value their collaboration, but as I have read before, there are sure to be other ways to help charity issues.

I disagree with all of the above. This will not be detrimental to any album sales. Many watching may decide to look on their site or social media and check them out and try newer stuff. Who cares if they just play The Final Countdown and Superstitious? Yeah they are cheesy but without songs like those I wouldn't have listened to Europe in the first place and listen to newer stuff. People are acting like Europe should be ashamed of their old stuff, they shouldn't it was great. 12,000 people will be there, we may end up seeing some of them at the Deep Purple tour.
Some of the bands that are performing are seen as cheesy and what not but remember Rick Astley had a number 1 album last year, Bananarama have a massive tour coming up and Erasure still release new albums every 2-3 years and sell out tours.

Hi westlondonmist, welcome to the forum! I also think it's a good idea to participate in this event. Variety is the spice of life and I'm looking forward to it.
