My head had been "in the clouds" the whole day yesterday waiting for the announcement! I know EUROPE will take me/us on another amazing journey and I've already made room in my heart for the new songs!! ❤️ The title track instantly reminded me of the first line on "No stone unturned", song that I love...
The artwork is very effective and leaves space to different interpretations... and probably we'll find more details little by little... the pyramid or triangle has come back in a way even though this time it looks more Pink Floydish 😊
If someone is wondering like me what GTO stands for it's a fast car... got the answer yesterday...

About "WALK THE EARTH", here's an interesting interview of Mic and Ian : www.nyan.ax/kultur/noje/europe-slapper-nytt-album-i-host/Translation and comments by Europe Fan Media Corner : “It will be a little different from all the previous stuff we've done” “Let's call it typical Eurock. Heaviness, dynamics, a damn groove and strong melodies” "The sound is influenced by the 70's, but with our melodies” That’s what Ian Haugland and Mic Michaeli anticipated about the new Europe album due to be released at the beginning of October during the interview by Nya Åland before tonight’s show at Rockoff Festival in Finland. Ian’s personal favorite is Mic Michaeli’s song with Beatles vibes, who has been waiting for three years before being included: "Now is the time for his song. Then Joey has written a song with Bowie influences, which is also good.” Exactly the precise words Ian told us in Sofia when we asked him about the new album... Levén added that we're gonna love it! I hope the band will consider posting some sneak previews from here to October! The wait is still so long! 😃

Don't like the cover at all really, but it doesn't matter. The music is the important thing.

First thoughts on what we know about the new album so far: - I like the cover. If it is really inspired by the music the premisises are excellent. - I like the fact that there are only 10 songs. Europe wouldn't have problems to produce a couple of fillers. If they chose not to do it, it's probably because they are confident enough on the material. - The title is cool and suggestive. I also thought immediately to No stone unturned. Since that's one of my favorite songs ever, I join the wish of those who hope to have that song back in the setlist. - As philreeves i also sense a sort of fil rouge connecting the titles of the songs together. Might not be a concept (if it was i would be more than happy) but the mood of the lyrics its probably very consistent. - And i also sense that those lyrics might be connected to the recent events happening in the world. I expect that a song like Kingdom United might be about Brexit. Joey lives in London and he must have followed that event with much interest. And lets not forget that the name of the band is actually Europe! The same goes also for songs like Election day and Walk the Earth. I think Joey might have made some cryptic references to news and current affairs in his usual style, like he did in Always the pretenders or Bag of bones (song). - In general I am very curious and positive. The overall concept of cover and titles leaves my with excellent hopes. Let's wait and see

A limited edition (3000 copies) will include a DVD featuring live footages from the Loud Park 2013 Festival. @everybody: that DVD is really something to keep an eye on, seriously! I posted some of this footage here a while ago, found it on Youtube but the videos got removed. Two clips, six songs I believe and a big production with great sound. Luckily I downloaded them before they got removed We all agreed this was the band's best live footage EVER. Maybe even better than their own DVD's. A must-have! Happy to hear this will be an official release!

I've found some interesting information regarding the style of the album on several sites, for instance on this one: www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=136231I'm not sure if it was shared before, but here are some of the details: "...From the anthemic sound of the opening track, "Walk The Earth," to the heavy vibe that is "Haze," from the instant melody of "Election Day," to the lyrical content of "Kingdom United," "Walk The Earth" is the album that should see Europe rightly acclaimed as a band at the height of its powers. The wonderful melodies and depth of Joey Tempest's vocals along with a powerhouse rhythm section and the guitar playing of John Norum, one of the great underrated guitarists. Norum's guitar playing shines across the record. This is an album that is big in its scope and sound. Much like previous album "War Of Kings," "Walk The Earth" is an album that has instant appeal but is also an album that needs to be lived with, in order to uncover its depth." Stein, maybe you can transfer this in another section, I just hurled this here the moment I saw it.
