Hi Guys! After a long break I am back to the forum. I like the new album. It has a rather progressive touch IMO. For sure not the catchiest album, but a pretty good one. To me it feels like a mix of Secret Society, WOK and Bag of Bones. VERY different from their 80s releases, and that's why I like it...

Album works better with a couple beers under the belt 😁
Gotta say even after repeated listens Walk The Earth, The Siege, Haze and Wolves remain the standouts but plenty more to chew on now too \m/

I have to admit this album is growing on me too. I still wouldn't consider it one of my favorite albums, but it's not my least favorite either.

Prisoners in Paradise was my least favourite. Although there were 3 or 4 tracks on it I really liked. And the Japanese bonus tracks of course 'Break Free' etc and many of the unreleased demos were good...but I'm going off topic so I will shut up

Europe have improved a lot. They are better musicians. Lyrics, sounds and arrangements are much more mature. Dave Cobb has great production's ideas, and has the ability to make classic and natural sounding recordings, while also maintining a modern and clear sound. Maybe with a little extra time at disposition (but studios and producer cost a lot!) something could be improved here and there. The titletrack is a good song, but too much predictable. Granted. Kingdom United has a great riff, is catchy and it's one of their best up tempo song ever. Pictures is an outstanding song, elegant, modern. Amazing. Wolves is strange but interesting. A grower. Turn to Dust is a very beautiful song in perfect Mic Michaeli style!
listen from 4m38s to the end! the outro of Turn to Dust could be a "tribute" to The Beatles
listen from 0m24s to 0m34s... Walk the Earth keyboard riff is a "tribute" to Tarot Woman from Rainbow
Sorry for my bad english! Ciao!

As I said earlier in this thread, the Japanese version with the Loudpark 2013 DVD is really something to look out for because of the awesome concert and quality. (Big stage, big fully packed arena, nice camera shots, good sound) Well I ordered it on Ebay 6 days ago and today it was in the mail! Surprisingly fast also...all the way from Japan. It's a really nice package, I must say. And the DVD is great indeed! A real must-have. By the way, I noticed in the booklet it says "Additional background vocals Walk The Earth by Jamie Larsson". That's Joey's son right? So cool This is the limited edition that I bought:
