Hello beautiful people, it's good time to gather the information that has been feeding this thread. See the musical influences that EUROPE supporters have beyond the love for our favorite band. About the album of our lives of EUROPE, is winning by a landslide THE FINAL COUNTDOWN, we should not be surprised at all, it is really an album that marked a whole generation, it is an album that keeps remembering people that today does not follow closely the band ... is that kind of music that has the ability to create a trend, ... this album was special, that's why I think it impacts us all so much. But on the other bands, there are very interesting conclusions: Some user has voted for a group that marked the 80s with their Hard Rock, such as "Def Leppard", or "Bon Jovi", we have also bands that were born from the search in the 90s of more alternative rock, and that probably was the seed of the Grunge movement such as "Oasis" or "Blur". We also like more Heavy Metal bands like "Kind Diamond", "Sepultura" or "Savatage" ... and artists with a softer rock, such as "Dire Straits" and "Herbert Grönemeyer". And then we have a band that has everything, can fit in all styles: "Guns & Roses" ... ok interesting result. I like it, I think I have to discover some of the artists exposed in this thread. So if someone doesn't agree with my reflection regarding the musical movement in which I have placed each artist (that probably so), please give us your opinion! It will be a pleasure to read you ... ARTIST ALBUM YEAR Kind Diamond CONSPIRACY 1989 Herbert Grönemeyer LUXUS 1990 Savatage STREETS (A ROCK OPERA) 1991 Sepultura A RISE 1991 Oasis STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANT 2000 Blur PARKLIFE 1994 Guns & Roses USE YOU ILLUSION (I&II) 1991 Bon Jovi NEW YERSEY 1988 Def Leppard HYSTERIA 1987 Dire Straits BROTHERS IN ARMS 1985

At what moment are we in the THREAD?
Currently and if I'm not mistaken, the situation is:
- Laetitia has told us 2 of her 5 choices, ... so she has 3 left. - cristina has told us 1 of her 5 choices, ... so she has 4 left.
When you want ladies ...

Hi all! I remember to check out this thread once or twice a month. So far I am intrigued and a little surprised by some musical inputs, also sort of glad that none of my choices have been posted yet. But at this rate, I guess I will have to come back in 3 or 4 months, to see if I have been nominated. Keep up the good work and thanks, Eva! xx

Here I am again. It's a tough moment at work, as we're in peak season and there's a lot to do to run a restaurant. Anyway, the second album I choose is LED ZEPPELIN IV I discovered Led Zeppelin during secondary school years and it was love at first listening. I was completely hypnotised by Plant's warm voice.

Here is my fourth choice: SAVATAGE - STREETS (A ROCK OPERA) - 1991 1. STREETS 2. JESUS SAVES 3. TONIGHT HE GRINS AGAIN / STRANGE REALITY 4. A LITTLE TOO FAR 5. YOU'RE ALIVE / SAMMY AND TEX 6. ST. PATRICK'S 7. CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW 8. NEW YORK CITY DON'T MEAN NOTHING 9. GHOST IN THE RUINS 10. IF I GO AWAY 11. SOMEWHERE IN TIME / BELIEVE The following both CD's were showed to me from a former friend of my parents, who was a real oldschool metalhead. First there was this one, Savatage, a real cool band, which i love to listen to till today. The whole music is great, every album has its own stile and i don't like, that they don't exist anymore^^. Indeed one of the best albums ever made!

Sorry for my absence . A bit busy with life in general !! I'm back now and I can finally go on with this thread ^^ Not easy to pick up only 5 albums and for my third choice............... 1 - Legend 2 - A Celtic Lore 3 - Dance With the Trees 4 - Fairy Forest 5 - Spirits of the Wild 6 - Ride 7 - Song of Brotherhood 8 - Circle of Life 9 - Gaelic Earth 10 - Prophecy 11 - Callirus 12 - A Celtic Tale 13 - Where I Belong 14 - Land of the Free 15 - Wild Flower 16 - Evocation 17 - Cliffs of Moher 18 - For the King 19 - Breath of the Forest 20 - Beautiful Dreams 21 - Crann Na Beatha 22 - Myth 23 - Ode to the Fallen Adrian Von Ziegler is a Swiss composer. The majority of his music is intrumental. He has done so many ambiant songs (dark, nordic, celtic, emotional, world, fantasy, oriental, metal musics). Some years ago, I've felt the need to listen to celtic music and I've discovered him on Youtube, with the song Legend, which is in The Celtic Collection album (2012). I just fell in love with this album immediately that I went to his website and downloaded (legaly of course ^^) his entire discography and bought the physical releases available. These songs are all instrumental and really mellow, harmonious and placid that I can reach peace of mind . And at the same time, these tunes are so powerful they can give me the impression that I could challenge anything ! My favorite song is For The King, which I think represents the most clearly what I've said above : a good balance between strength and quietness. Hope you enjoy (I'm going around the forum and see what's new and trending ^^) EDIT: next album tomorrow ^^

Without You I'm Nothing by Placebo (1998) 01. Pure Morning 02. Brick Shithouse 03. You Don't Care About Us 04. Ask For Answers 05. Without You I'm Nothing 06. Allergic (To Thoughts Of Mother Earth) 07. The Crawl 08. Every You Every Me 09. My Sweet Prince 10. Summer's Gone 11. Scared Of Girls 12. Burger Queen 12. Evil Dildo (hidden track) I've know Placebo in 2000 with the song Pure Morning and its stunning video (which a total subjective point of view I admit . This vid just blew my mind !!). I literaly fell in love with this band and still am now ^^. I think I can be called a hardcore fan : I collect their CDs, LPs, Magazines, their official merchandise in general since 2004. All their albums are great, but this one has a special place in my heart because of the harshness of some songs ( Brick Shithouse, Scared Of Girls) and the softness of others ( My Sweet Prince, Without You I'm Nothing, etc). It's a very emotional album dealing with passionate, tight bond and destructive love relationship, self consciousness and selfishness and a bit of sexuality too. The song Without You I'm Nothing featured David Bowie on the single version.

For the last album.................... Europe with Walk The Earth...This album acts like a leitmotiv for me with all its motivated sentences, catchy lyrics and its strength melodies which helped me finding my way in a weird period of my life. I feel grateful for that It's been one year I collect their music and stuffs related to the band.
My fave song is probably Wolves or Turn To Dust or... I can't choose really. I'll share this Bowie inspired song, Pictures. I know you'll enjoy it a lot . My turn to nominated someone... scream0fanger
