Hello to all, here begins the Game of Nominations about "the albums that have marked our lives" ... so far 7 users have joined this thread, (THANKS A LOT GUYS) if someone else wants to do it, it's on time! I'm going to start by making my list of the 5 albums that I consider most have marked me, unfortunately I have left out bands like Queen, Whitesnake, Aerosmith ... etc ... that have also been very important in my life but they are just 5 !!! 1.-USE YOUR ILLUSION (I & II) - GUNS & ROSES Year 1991. Guns & Roses had already amazed the world with their "APPETITE" and their incredible "Sweet Child Of Mine" ... great album too, but then they create their "Jewel in the crown" for me, after the two albums of USE YOUR ILLUSION have not reached this level of quality, it's my opinion. I think they are essential for anyone who loves rock, I love every song ... "November Rain" has an insurmountable video, ... "Do not Cry" is a ballad of the best written ... but not only slow songs, .. the rest are all essential songs, Axl and the sand of his voice, ...AMAZING! I never get tired of listening to it. Another shots: CIVIL WAR, BAD OBSESSION, YOU COULD BE MINE, PRETTY TIED UP, COMA, ... and many more This is my first !!! I'll be back telling you the next ...

That's a great album I've listened a lot, but which isn't part of my top 5 ^^.
I particularly love the song COMA with its worried and heavy atmosphere.

I have to admit that I have not listened to this double album in its entirety, but at the time I was grieving the absence of EUROPE ( ) on tv music channels and Guns'n'Roses annoyed me a bit. Later I started listening mostly to their "best of" and "The Spaghetti Incident" album, which I liked a lot.

I bought Use Your Illusion I&II during my stay as an exchanging student in New Jersey. It was a premiere to me, as both records were released later on in 1992 in Italy. Great albums, really. Axl was at his peak and I was sooooo happy to see both concerts they played in my country in 1991 and 1992. Estranged, Coma, Garden of Eden, Double Talkin' Jive were some of my preferite. In those days, I really missed my loved Swedes, I really did and I wasn't surprised to find out about the break. Their music sounded a bit annoying and it felt like it wasn't them playing ...

On Friday Guns & Roses played in Madrid, I was at the concert. Three and a half hours of concert, ... incredible, Slash and his solos something magical and Axl even though his voice is not what it was is very professional and with a fantastic attitude. It sounded "Coma" Laetitia , really amazing, you're right it's a dark song and it also seems like something hypnotic ... I love it. Clair I read that THE SPAGUETTI INCIDENT owes the name to a spaguettis fight between Axl and Steven Adler, hehe. cristina , I remember that the publication of USE YOUR ILLUSION coincided more or less with the separation of EUROPE, I was very disappointed, it really hurt me ... well I do not know, they had their fans that at that moment we suffered because our band disappeared , I also remember the incursion of new bands in music market that I didn't like them, but these albums OMG! USE YOUR ILLUSION I & II ! I loved every song ... and I keep doing it. Great GUNS & ROSES 2. NEW JERSEY (BON JOVI) 19881. «Lay Your Hands on Me» 2. «Bad Medicine» 3. «Born to Be My Baby» 4. «Living in Sin» 5. «Blood on Blood» 6. «Homebound Train» 7. «Wild Is the Wind» 8. «Ride Cowboy Ride» 9. «Stick to Your Guns» 10. «I'll Be There for You» 11. «99 in the Shade» 12. «Love for Sale» What an album! To me, one of the best of BON JOVI, ... "BAD MEDICINE", "LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME", "BORN TO BE MY BABY" ... "LIVING IN SIN", "WILD IS THE WIND" ... every song is absolutely amazing, I grew up listen to this album, one of the albums of my live without doubt. 3. HYSTERIA (DEF LEPPARD) 19871. «Women» 2. «Rocket» 3. «Animal» 4. «Love Bites» 5. «Pour Some Sugar on Me» 6. «Armageddon It» 7. «Gods of War» 8. «Don't Shoot Shotgun» 9. «Run Riot» 10. «Hysteria» 11. «Excitable» 12. «Love and Affection» One of my favorite bands of always the greatest DEF LEPPARD, ... Joe Elliott one of the best heavy rock voices of the 80s, ... from this album my fav are: "Animal", the sexy "Put your sugar on me" and the precious ballad "Love bites". Amazing Def Leppard.

4. BROTHERS IN ARMS (DIRE STRAITS) 1985"So Far Away" "Money for Nothing" "Walk of Life" "Your Latest Trick" "Why Worry" "Ride Across the River" "The Man's Too Strong" "One World" – 3:40 "Brothers in Arms" Maybe I wouldn't say that DIRE STRAITS is one of my favorite bands, I do not really have much knowledge about this group, but their album BROTHERS IN ARMS is a jewel of music. The song that gives title to the album is absolutely wonderful, ... and Mark Knopfler is a guitar magician. I remember that this band was my brother's favorite and how he sounded at home back in the 80s alternating with EUROPE, depending on who of us was able to get before to the turntable before and put their vinyl LOL, ... If someone wants to listen to the album, and has a very stressful day, I recommend you to wear the song WHY WORRY, it is a pinch in the soul. Say that my friend Michaela Italy surely is agree with me in this choice, I know that she likes this band Just one thing more about DStraits, even when this song isn't part of this album, ... SULTAN OF SWINGS song of a previous album is one of those songs that make music great, ... Here a performance with MARK, PHIL COLLINS, STING AND ERIC CLAPTON ... playing SULTAN OF SWINGS, Enjoy it!

5. THE FINAL COUNTDOWN (EUROPE) 19861. THE FINAL COUNTDOWN 2. ROCK THE NIGHT 3. CARRIE 4. DANGER ON THE TRACK 5. NINJA 6. CHEROKEE 7. TIME HAS COME 8. HEART OF STONE 9. ON THE LOOSE 10. LOVE CHASER This album was an open door to many things, I was 12 or 13 when the total success ... and I remember how I learned each of the songs, word by word, without knowing any English, I sang them all! It was the way to channel the energy and emotions of adolescence, suddenly this group songs were able to make you feel better, in your disappointments, in your future illusions, music was healing, was the best companion at that time and EUROPE suddenly it was everything, not only because they were very mediatic and although we did not have internet ALL THE WORLD knew the Swedish band that played THE FINAL COUNTDOWN and everybody knew Joey Tempest, ... but because their music was magic for me. In 2016, having been able to participate in the celebration was something very special, every concert where the band played the album, live it, transporting me to that past, a wonderfull of illusions whose soundtrack fed them ... well this could, all the things lived close to these songs never be changed and THE FINAL COUNTDOWN is a fundamental part of my life.
