Here is one interview where Joey talks about the 6 1/2 minute version: He mentions it at 2:42 in the video. What else could they fill the song with? Longer intro? More of the same riff repeated at the end? I struggle to know how or what the extra time was filled with. |

One explanation could simply be that Joey is just misremembering things. But the fact that he has mentioned the 6 1/2 minute track length in so many interviews over the years does make me wonder...  |

Yeah totally, Every interview he mentions it yet I, like many fans, have wondered just what he could be talking about. Maybe its just a nice roundish sort of number to quote better than 5 minutes something. The song is long enough as a track as it is, 6 and a half would be spreading it out a tad too much IMHO.

Maybe it has a longer outtro? The album version has a fade out and in the end, when the music is almost gone you can still hear Joey sing. Well sing, it's actually more like 'yeah' but maybe the 6 1/2 minute version goes on at that point. Similar in a way like the longer Open your heart version I mentioned some time ago.
