With the 30th Anniversary of the release of The Final Countdown in 2016(Feb. 14 for the single; May 26 for the album), I think it'd be a cool idea if EUROPE could make a return to Solnahallen, where the original TFC music video was shot, to do a full gig, to be recorded for Bluray, DVD, and CD release(full with behind-the-scenes footage, including a full interior tour of Solnahallen's facilities, a digital remastering of the 1986 TFC album music videos(TFC, Rock The Night, Carrie, and Cherokee), upgraded to 1080P HD for the Bluray release, and a re-release of the original TFC album, with raised cover art for the album title, band name, and the windows with the people in them), and maybe create a new TFC music video, with the current sound of the song, and EUROPE as they are now aesthetically, used.
It's also be awesome too if, somehow, EUROPE could track down the original 6 1/2 minute demo mix of that song, and do a special digital release online for it, to let us know how it originally sounded while it was but a concept song in the studio, when it was being made at the PowerPlay Studios from Sept. 1985-March 1986.
With the 30th Year since the song, it's other songs on the album, and video came out, I think it deserves to receive as BIG a celebration as a song of it's epic scale deserves.
Just wondering what you all here think of these ideas.

You should go work for the band. You've got some great ideas there!

My wishes for the 30th anniversary:
* An anniversary tour like Wings Over Sweden, where they play the whole TFC album live.
* A release of the rough mixes of the TFC album. John Norum has said in various interviews that he thought the rough mixes sounded much better than the final mixes.

Seem very good ideas I already can see the band play in Solnahallen next year !! ... I too would like some kind of celebration that would allow us to hear all the album "The Final Countdown" a performance of the band-type Tour Sweden "Wings over Sweden" but this time with TFC album. In addition to an epic song is the album of a generation it is to blame for many of us like the hard-rock music, so really deserves something big.

I spoke to Mic last night in Copenhagen, and he said that the band were having serious talks about doing something like this. I then asked if it was a one-night-only-show at SRF they were planning and he said that it was not something that was decided, they were just talking about doing the whole album live next year...

Very interesting info michaeljessen, which means that the band is serious about doing a show with all the album THE FINAL COUNTDOWN live ... would be awesome! I love the idea ... where can we book the tickets ?

Made it to Solnahallen. A journey 30 years in the making and from the other side of the world. Managed to go inside too and have a look around. Amazing how small the hall actually is and how huge it seems in TFC video! Loving Stockholm too, Taxi driver I had today was a older guy and actually knew a heck of a lot about Europe as he was from Upplands Vasby which was quite cool.

Where did you get info about a 6 1/2 minute demo? My guess is there is no such thing as a demo for TFC

My guess is there is no such thing as a demo for TFC I'm guessing he's referring to the fact that whenever Joey has spoken about TFC in interviews, he has often said something along these lines: "We had no idea it would become a hit, it was 6 1/2 minutes long..." But the track length of TFC (album version) is actually 5:09. So some fans have been speculating that "the 6 1/2 minute version" is actually Joey's own demo version from 1985. OR maybe the original uncut album version of TFC was 6 1/2 minutes long, but the track was deemed to be too long, so they decided to cut it down to 5:09 on the final version of the album?

Here is one interview where Joey talks about the 6 1/2 minute version:
He mentions it at 2:42 in the video.
