Hello dear Aphasians, time's up! Another session is closed and we have eight more songs that join the group of the "Great 64" that will compete in Phase two. Thank you all for your partecipation, for the constancy that you show in providing your votes and for the passion that shines in your contributions. You all make this game interesting and successful, keep going! Ok, what comes next? Ah, yes, the result of Group F: Wings of tomorrow 14 Cherokee 14 Forever travelling 12 New love in town 12 Bag of bones 12 Prisoners in Paradise 11 Sign of the times 10 Brave and beautiful soul 9
Yesterday's news 8 In the future to come 7 Homeland 6 Light it up 5 Never say die 4 Sucker 2 Beautiful disaster 2Soooo, the first eight songs go directly to Phase two! I'm very surprised by the result of Wings of tomorrow, that wins the group with 14 votes! I will later check where it arrived in the old battle but I don't remember that it had so much success back then. I'm curious also to see how far it will go this time. Cherokee also wins the group, despite John Norum's recent disaffection...I'm sorry Jonta, we fans still love it, and a lot, so you'd better keep on playing it! And the same goes for Sign of the times. I heard a lot of people complaining that it's time to replace it in the setlist but, since I personally still enjoy it a lot, I'm happy that it passed the round. On the other hand... I'm so sad for Never say die Why? Whyyyyyy? Ok, I'll be strong, I'll try anyway... And now, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the next Group GBoyazont Stormwind Heart of stone Where men won't dare More than meets the eye Coast to coast Talk to me Sweet love child Start from the dark Human after all No stone unturned Only young twice Doghouse War of kings Angels (with broken hearts)
Another tough group...very hard I know, I always say that, but it's not my fault! It's just so! So here's the deal: listen to some good music (here's a playlist that I raccomend Playlist , enjoy life and remember to deliever your vote within next Friday, the 30th October at 22.00 CET. Everyone is warmly welcome to join the community and to partecipate to the game. We all would love to listen to your opinions and it would help the game to be even more interesting. Jump on board! Dear Eva, you seem to love all the ballads which are a little over the top for me! No, you won't find C2C on my list of favorites but: Heart of Stone More than Meets the Eye Talk to Me Start from the Dark Human After All No Stone Unturned Doghouse War of Kings

I agree with Eva:Coast to Coast can't be forgotten. My other choices: Stormwind Heart of Stone More than Meets the Eye Sweet Love Child . Here I'm confused, the rumour that Joey wrote this song when they were in Chile made me ask Ian and Mic. They confirmed it. But now Stein said it was in another country....
Start from the Dark Human after All No stone Unturned....my fave!!!!!

Group G Heart of stone Human after all DoghouseThis 3 are among my very favorites ever ! And I'll keep as well : No stone unturned War of kings Angels (with broken hearts)
I'm so sad for Never say die Why? Whyyyyyy? Ok, I'll be strong, I'll try anyway... The same for me, "good man" ent. Sad for "Never say die", but even more for "Light it up" : so energetic and full of virtuosity ! But you know what, "good man ent ? I find it less painful than during the first battle "ready or not". There's a kind of hope in me : the secret expectation that, maybe one day, (after the release of EUROPE next album, for instance) we'll do it again... And then, "Light it up" will overcome everything ! Light it up - This song is ALL IAN!! His drumming is phenomenal; he just shines on this track! Yes, very "Ian-esque"in its energy. But the others are amazing too, like Norum, especially in the instrumental part of the final. Breathtaking ! (and one more tip: be careful with beans !! ) Do you mean that they can have hallucinogen effects? Yes, thank you, I had already realized that Yes we're always learning new things on this amazing forum... I already knew some mushrooms could be hallucinogens, but that's the first time I see it about beans and roots !! For my sake, thanks to you "good man" ent , I'll be very careful, from now. (I wonder if old hippies also had discovered those extraordinary beans effects ? )

Sweet Love Child . Here I'm confused, the rumour that Joey wrote this song when they were in Chile made me ask Ian and Mic. They confirmed it. But now Stein said it was in another country.... I guess you're referring to this interview with Joey that I posted earlier? I have an interview with Joey from the Prisoners in Paradise era, from January 1991, where he talks about the songs: (...) "Sweet Love Child" - This song is a brand new style for EUROPE. I wrote it during sound-check in Delhi. It was written with positive attitude and natural circumstances. It's a ballad about a special period of life. But if I remember correctly, in the booklet for the 1982-1992 compilation where Joey gave his comments about the songs, he said that "Sweet Love Child" was written when they were jamming "at a theatre in South America". I'm pretty sure that would be Viña del Mar. So yeah, it's a bit confusing.
