I've been enjoying so much your votes and discussions that I was just about to forget to vote myself. Here we go: The final countdown - I agree with Tone Irene here, sorry but we simply can NOT live without TFC! ... yet Ninja - amazing song, still rocks me after so many years Superstitious - great intro, great riff, great solo, great chorus, great bridge... Wake up call - it was quite a surprise to me seeing this one climbing all the way to the fifth position(ex-aequo) in the last battle. I considered it an amazing song but, until then I hadn't realized that it was so loved by the fans The getaway plan - great riff perfectly matching the melody. Inspired lyrics, I'm the shiver that runs up your spine Let the children play - again, great music, great lyrics. We know where we want to go, we just need a light to get us there For the last two spots I'm undecided... mmmh, let's go for: The king will return - I love the epic side of the band, a little put aside lately (with the notable exception of War of kings) Roll with you - I love the song in general, and the drum work especially Sorry for Praise you, Bring it all home and Run with the angels. I like them all very much but I had "only" eight spots. Hi everyone!!! I'm a bit late but I'm IN!!! Hey andy74 it's so cool to have you back with us! Welcome to the battle! I hadn't seen this! Thanks to Michaela for posting about it in FB. My votes are: - The king will return - Lyin' Eyes - The final countdown - Ninja - The getaway plan - Let the children play - Wake Up Call - Bring it all home Hello ricardo, welcome to the battle Your contribution is very much appreciated Ummmm, did it suddenly get hot in here or am I having a hot flash? Oh, you just made a bunch of us women having hot flashes here, but that's ok... Gotta say that it's been very interesting for a few men here too. Instructive...that's probably the word ent Do you remember "The Sacred Secret of the Multicuote"? As you can see, I still don't know how to use it
One last thing, to all those that still haven't voted: the session for voting the songs of Group B closes today at 22.00 CET. There are still a few hours. If you want to push your favourite songs do it before it's too late. You are still not a member of the forum?...don't wait any longer, sign yourself in! Let it be said

Ummmm, did it suddenly get hot in here or am I having a hot flash? Oh, you just made a bunch of us women having hot flashes here, but that's ok... your verbiage and language capacity is so amazing that you couldn't explain it better in words!!! You also detailed so well what I mean by "the guilty guitar"... The incredible thing is that such a song, so deeply understood and felt from the female audience, has been written by men... and furthermore vikings! I really loved your description of Praise You and I did notice pretty much the switch from the "saw" to the "had" since the very first time I listened to this song. Joey often forgets to use the "had" when singing it live... or he does only in a few occasions. Pretty much noticed this too, because a simple word like that, it certainly becomes a "killer" when used! So the less it is used, the stronger effect it has on those occurrences! And certainly you get thrills up your spine when he does that! Michaela Italy - that 'had' in PY always makes my ears perk up in that song, but I hadn't noticed that he doesn't consistently sing it that way live. I will from now on though! But I have noticed he doesn't "scream out her name" in SECOND DAY live. Joey!! Forget the "call out her name" - save it for a dog or a cat! I think "scream" has more impact vs. "call"...it's more theatrical! But we are talking PRAISE YOU here so here's what I recommend to him. Would I would look at a gal while singing "first time I had you" and pin her with a very meaningful, intense Look OF Want that would have her either fanning herself with her hand or grabbing onto the nearest object so that she didn't fall over due to weakening knees... Give them that fantasy, Joey! @eva tomorrow - I think this song will go the distance, but Number One? We'll have to see... ent - I had notice how quiet The-Men-Of-The-Forum got, and one side of me got a bit worried! "Instructive", huh? Whew - what a relief! That was my PG rated version! I spent a lot of time editing that passage last night...

Hello everyone!!!! It was just lovely to read all your posts and contributions! The matter is getting more and more interesting!!!! From every group it is very difficult to leave some songs out, but that's the rule of the game! Here is my list from Group B (in the order provided by the contest): The Final Countdown: it happens once in a lifetime to write an evergreen song like this one! Known by everyone in every corner of the planet, used in so many different occasions!!! The keyboards motif has been intoned and/or played by millions of people! It got so many persons to love this band, either for a short or for a very long time... It put EUROPE on all the album selling charts, on all the newspapers, magazines and TV shows around the world! It's positive, it's pure energy! It lives with and beyond EUROPE! No, this is not just a song... Superstitious: whoever listens to it, realizes that it's EUROPE straight away! Their 80's sound brought to the highest level... all the instruments seep melody, Joey's voice is warm and unmistakable... Strange things happened during the filming of the promo video Mr. Government Man: you can picture the whole scene on an American highway in front of your eyes... straightforward lyrics and a glamorous spirit in the music to describe the falling parabola of a drunk and horny guy! Wake up call: the time to "wake up" arrives for each one of us sooner or later in life, doesn't it? Very thick guitar sound! The getaway plan: kinda "obsessive" both in the lyrics and in the riff! Love it! I remember that years ago when most of us were using MySpace, there was the possibility to upload some songs on your own page... well John Leven himself uploaded this one on his own page! He really liked it! I think that whenever the guys write a song all together the result is always surprising! Let the children play: in my opinion the album "Secret Society" was experimental for the band under many different aspects... this song is a perfect example... sonorities and effects that continuously refer to something else... Drink and a smile: when Joey and John Norum came to Italy to promote the band's latest album "Bag of Bones" and to meet the fans in a record shop in Milan, there was a wide crowd to welcome them... after the questions from the press, we started waiting in line to get an autograph and I realized the time was very tight for whatever kind of conversation... however, when my turn came I managed to talk a little bit to both of them and I caught the opportunity to tell Joey that I really loved his vocals on this song... he thanked me and explained that he wanted to try something new and that he was very happy with the result! I'm very happy too! Praise you: soooooooooooooooo sensual!!! He wants to thank his woman but he wants to "have" her too!!! Romantic and erotic to the right point! Any woman would praise such a love declaration! Musically we step back in the 70's and it's a lovely journey...

Hello dear Aphasians, Time’s up, the voting session for Group B is officially closed It was a very nice session. I loved your passion, creativity and the fact that you dedicate some time elaborating a bit your votes. I find it very entertaining. Nevertheless this is a game based on votes so I want to praise all the people that contributed, even if only with their votes: you’re the spine of the contest so keep on voting Which leads us to the final rank of Group B:The final countdown: 18 Wake up call: 17 Superstitious: 15 Let the children play: 14 Ninja: 13 The getaway plan: 13 Praise you: 13 Lyin’ eyes: 11 The king will return: 7 Roll with you: 7 Bring it all home: 6 Mr. Government man: 6 Bad blood: 5 Drink and a smile: 5 Run with the angels: 2So, the first eight songs go on to phase two! Also this time the group winner got the vote of all the voters except one. No surprises here, it’s the final countdown after all! For what I’m concerned I’m surprised by Lyin’ eyes, I didn’t expected that it would have passed the round. And the surprise is double when I see that Run with the angels has only two votes I was sure it had more fans...well, ok, probably it ended up in a difficult group. Praise you, praised by the ladies, made it to the next phase. Now, what I’ve learned from this session is that it’s a song that girls keep in great consideration (keeping it PG ). Personally I like very much the guitar solo, and after all, I find it groovy and fascinating, but it doesn’t move me that much. So now I’ve got two questions: how many songs like that have Europe in their discography? And, if I had a contest for the girls and a contest for the boys, would the results be different? Probably yes, I just never thought about that... Anyway, let’s jump to the next group, shall we? Here it is, Group C: Paradize bay Scream of anger On broken wings On the loose Just the beginning Tomorrow All or nothing Girl from Lebanon Flames Reason Secret society A mother’s son Mojito girl Riches to rags Children of the mindI think this is a very balanced group, there are maybe two or three bigger songs, but the rest of the tracks have all chances to pass the group. We will see... As usual, to help you with the selection, if you need it, or simply for a company, here’s a youtube playlist with all the songs of the group (alphabetical order): So people, once again, listen to some good music, meditate a little and take your time to decide but be sure to post your vote within next Wednesday, 14th October at 22:00 CET. Remember that every user of this forum is entitled to vote (and if they are boys they can vote twice...nah, just joking! ), even if he/she didn’t vote for the previous groups. If you are still not a user you can register now and join the community. It’s easy, funny and free. So, ladies and gentlemen, are you happy with the results of Group B? How do you find Group C? Enjoying the game so far? So have a nice Sunday everybody and keep on rockin’!

My heart cries for THE KING WILL RETURN I really thought would pass this phase instead of LYN' EYES. Well after the comments in the GROUP B about PRAISE YOU I guess there is great expectation about it, I'm very interested to know where will be its final position in battle In the next group is my beloved TOMORROW, when the band asked in Facebook about our favorite songs it is always very demanded, let's see what happen here ... Ok, now I have to think my 8 songs
