Interview to Ian Haugland in PEFMAGAZINE www.pefmagazine.org/products/interview-with-ian-haugland-europes-drummer/" ... I really hope that we´ll still be able to perform in 20 years from now. Looking at bands like The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple and Aerosmith gives me hope. As long as we feel like we can put on a great show and there´s a crowd out there that wants to see us I think we´ll be around! ...""... We have been talking about making an officiall movie about the history of the band Europe, but nothing is decided yet! ..." Thank you so much Eva Tomorrow ! This interview is great. Precious info here : "the plan is to start recording the next album after next summer so I guess we´ll start writing new songs in the beginning of 2016." (can't wait for the next album, already ! But WOK is so good, that the chalenge will be huge...) Interesting point here, too : "We have been talking about making an official movie about the history of the band Europe, but nothing is decided yet!" That would be great... And I love Ian's conclusion : "Stay compassionate, treat all beings with love and respect, we´re all one" Well said, man !

Yeah, I find it a really wonderful phrase, I believe that behind the fun and lively image that always gives us Ian is a very thoughtful and very sensitive person. Well, when I saw him in the M & G even timid I thought, ok, sure it is not, but when I talked to him (a bit) , seemed me a shy guy ... what I said, great sentence!

There are several interviews with Ian in this section, but is a good idea as there is already open a post dedicated to "all interviews of John Leven" do the same with other members of the band,
I leave a link to an interview published recently to Ian it was last October 18. It is very cool. I love his vision of The Final Countdown
www.curt.de/muenchen/gespraech-europe/
Next year, the world celebrates 30 years of "The Final Countdown". Is this song curse or a blessing for you?
Ian: " ... It is what you make of it. I have decided to see the song as a blessing for Europe. The song and the album among the most successful numbers from the 80s. We had the opportunity to continue the comeback and our journey in the new millennium. Playing "Countdown" is still fantastic. The audience rotates through every time and it's as if you get an adrenaline rush ... "

Interview with Ian Haugland, very interesting as always speaks very honestly, especially the relationship of Kee with the band and between them, (is in Spanish)
It was published a few days ago 18.01.2016

Were you able to read the book of Kee Marcello?
"It's a great guitar player and a great person but not the right kind for Europe or emotionally or chemical effects. Europe was a band of friends who grew up in the same neighborhood and were developed together. When John Norum left in 1986 had to replace quickly because everything was exploding at that time for us. We got into the band without hearing or anything like that. It was a recommendation and we knew him from the scene. That's why we chose it. But he did not fit into the chemistry of Europe. John Norum and Joey Tempest always had that tension to Richards / Jagger and Kee Marcello that did not happen: it was a session musician for all purposes. More technical than John, it's possible, but did not have the same touch that. "
"Joey was alone with the compositions and no one to compare ideas. Kee did a good job but it was not the right person for us in the long run. "
Yes, yes ... but have you read the book?
" Yes, I have read some parts. I think it's an exaggeration. Many of the stories seem to Motley Crue. No filter when you read that book. He wrote a book that is recognized for creating exaggerated images of things Swedish journalist. It's a fun read, because all the details of drugs and madness are greatly exaggerated, but not particularly real. "
"He recorded a disc after editing the book and lyrics were all Europe. I did not understand. One thing is that there was rerecorded the songs that had been part but re-recorded songs from "Wings of Tomorrow" and "The Final Countdown", two albums in which he did not participate. Nor do I understand why they sang. Not a singer! ".
Do you have relationship with him?
"We see it sometimes, as happened recently in a television show. I met him on a TV show where several famous ride horses. I feel he is confused and does not know what to do. As guitarist Kee Marcello is good enough to work with anyone. It could have been the guitarist of Whitesnake and Def Leppard, say. Or when Bon Jovi Richie Sambora went. But he does not know what you want and you're lost. It goes like crazy trying things and not finish ubicase. But it's a great guitar. "

Blowin’ Wind with Europe’s Ian Haugland: ” We have to perform at 100% every night. It’s really important that you remind yourself how lucky you are, especially a band like Europe that comes from the 80’s, that you can still be doing this.” thegreatsouthernbrainfart.com/?p=15699
