If you would see WOK as a mix between two other Europe albums... Which two?
To me the album sounds like a cool mixture between Wings Of Tomorrow and Secret Society.

Interesting question... One is Secret society, for sure...and the other... maybe Bag of bones. But I'd also mention the outtakes from PIP (things like Yesterday's news, Rainbow warrior, Little sinner, Blame it on me...)

Great question ... we'll see! because I think we will really have incredible mixtures. Here's mine: - START FROM THE DARK For that dark part of the album, ... War of Kings above all is a cut that could be in SFTD - OUT OF THIS WORLD ok, ... I'm not crazy !! But the presence of Mic's keyboard on this album has been a discovery, Mic sounds better than ever and reminded me moments of songs in OOTW

it is mysterious like SS. it has the melancholic touch of WoT. and the "back to the roots"-attitude of BoB.

There are elements of it that remind me of several Europe albums. Some songs even take me back to the PIP era. So I'm going to say Prisoners and LLAE. But I hear typical Europe melodies all the way through this album. As someone has already mentioned 'Children of the Mind' has something in it that reminded me of 'Seventh Sign'. And believe it or not, the melodies in 'Vasastan' remind me of 'The Final Countdown'

Been 2 weeks now listening to the new album and this topic is something that crossed my mind also. Firstly I love the album, took a few listens but certainly up there with LLAE in my opinion, anyway the thought occurred that I wondered that when writing the album its almost as if each song represents one of the previous albums so this is almost a reflection and a celebration of their entire career to date

Hmmm... Quite hard to limit the comparisons to just 2 records? Thinking first 2 would be Prisoners and Start From The Dark. But hearing some Wings in there too and of course a natural flow on effect from Bones... I think what appeals most about this record is firstly its completness, but whether intentional or not, not only have they paid tribute to their influences they've managed to salute a most eras of their own past at the same time
