There're already threads about the video War Of Kings, and about the album War of Kings in its general sense (a huge thread !)... Maybe it's time to create a new one only about music. What do you think ?

Hole in my Pocket needs a few more listens. It isn't doing anything for me yet...unfortunately. I really like it alot, and more than War of Kings- and the main reason being the faster tempo and more fluid nature of the song. War of kings is growing on me more, but when I first heard it I had a similar feeling to when I heard NSTSTB - that it was a perfectly solid song, but that I felt like I wanted to speed it up. ... Already, 2 camps emerge : the ones who prefer "War Of Kings", and the ones who like better "Hole in My Pocket" !

I don't know how, but is already rolling on facebook and I'm totally in love with this song ... "Days of Rock N'Rock" (WAR OF KINGS) Totally in love with this song, too ! It could be a real hit. So catchy ! Everything is there : an amazing intro, a fast rythm, something that brings you away, far from the earth ! I can't stop listening to it. Now I really really can't wait until the release of this album. I need it !! My favorite until now. The 2 others were nice, but this one is awesome !

They've done Doghouse, which is as groovy as this one. Totally different songs. No comparison whatsoever.... I agree : totally different songs. I'm fond of Doghouse, too. But the rythm is not at all the same.

I did not want to hear the songs that have been released many times because I want to hear the whole album to savor fine. So far I've loved what I heard, first because I recognize a EUROPE with influences from different eras, this album is not completely broken with their past as others, but also think it will have its own personality, has wonderful details, the Norum solo in "Days of Rock 'n roll" followed by the clink sueve is beautiful. This song along with "War of Kings" are my favorite, and thinking about it, both moved me to the 80s, with this album I'm plugging in a special way with the EUROPE of the past, and the songs became me a fan of this band.

Of course you're right, Eva Tomorrow. An album should be heard in its entirety, because it's a whole thing ; and EUROPE certainly worked a lot to build it, and on the organization of the songs between them. But... hey, we are fans : it's a kind of torture of Tantalum not to listen to the new songs when they are just there, avalaible to us ! Now, concerning the fourth we are discovering today "Children of the mind" : at the first listening, I didn't like it at all !!! But at the second time, I began to appreciate it. Now, I think there's many good things in it. So, I'm ready to listen toiton the cd with a lot of pleasure !

Of course the songs (Doghouse, Days of Rock n Roll) are not the same. But they are from the same "family" so to speak, feasting on the musical aspects that made classic rock so great it is still recognized today.
I don't think listening to a couple of songs in advance spoils the album experience. It's always something special when you put a CD or record on for the first time and hear it in full quality and immerse yourself in it. It's then you get to hear all the details. Remember when we first listened to the radio recording of WoK? And the some time later when the single was available and the video came out, we were surprised about the things we didn't notice before? That's going to happen again when the album is out and I am looking forward to that!

Yes, you're right steph : it's always different when you listen to an album in a good quality instead of radio edit, no doubt. However, I try not to listen to the new songs too many times on youtube : I'm curious to discover them, of course. And they are so good that it makes me impatient to get the album ! But then, I prefer to wait for the good quality CD ! Now, concerning the 5th song someone umploaded on Youtube today (No, Mark-David, this channel is not the band themselves : it's a kind of "fake" vevo ...) : "California 405". I like the music very much. Don't know about the lyrics, as I don't understand them at all... But the music is beautiful ; it has something moving. I love the organ on it !

After Mark-David gave us the lyrics, I can say I find this song somptuous. The hammond intro : velvet ! And everything else is perfect IMO. Maybe my favorite now, before "Days of rocknroll".
