Can't wait for the first single, I think it's about time they release something. P.S. I had a weird dream two nights ago... I ACTUALLY heard 'War of Kings' and 'saw' the guys playing it live... Crazy me xD If it turns out anyhow similar to what I heard in my dream... it's AS-TON-ISH-ING! P.P.S I have a slight idea about 'Hole In My Pocket', not from my wild dreams, though. xD

It seems interesting that the last couple albums they were pretty open with a lot of updates on the website and Facebook, but this time there hasn't been much of anything. I wonder if there are any surprises or if they just chose to be more tight lipped for this one.

I wonder if there are any surprises or if they just chose to be more tight lipped for this one. I think the updates are only on Facebook and with little comments. Their official website is dead from Last Look at Eden, and buried from Bag of Bones, it's very sad. I agree the assertion "tight lipped" that's the philosophy of the moment, about WOK there is a press release and nothing else, no initiative in involving fans, no updated in their official website, no updated the dates of the concerts in facebook, a painful way to advertise the band, the responsible for this should be very bad, I work in an advertising company and we are selling as quality a lot of shit, do not understand how this band with a lot of quality is selling to themselves in a bad way, I can not understand it.

I think that WOK will be pretty epic, and the thing about not releasing any updates or news about it is just 'building the suspense'. I agree that they should hire someone to make bigger promotion for themselves and the new album, but that depends on them. After all, the guys don't want to expose themselves too much, but some bigger publicity on their back won't hurt them. Let us first hear the first single (the time has come already!) and then we'll discuss the promotion and stuff

LLAE was absolutely epic and the close inside look at the creation process we were given through the studio blog didn't ruin the final product at all. It was rather a succesful way to increase the hype. I'm not sure that the "sealed lips strategy" works that much. I think that when the band comes back from Japan, they will concentrate on the promotion of WOK. I think that WOK will be pretty epic Me too

I agree about LLAE, although some songs like "U Devil U" didn't fit in the album, they should've gone with something similar like "No Stone" or "Angels". I liked the production thing on LLAE. Hope WOK will contain all the elements from the last two albums. That's my hope.

Did you already see this review with an interview of JTempest ? It seems it comes from Classic Rock Mag : classicrock.teamrock.com/features/2014-12-20/2015-the-ultimate-preview-4 (although I didn't find the real link) We learn many details : -WOK will be "one of the heaviest Europe album" -There's a song based on a viking saga (will they add some Swedish words in it ? That would be great !) -A song will be in the "No stone unturned style. -They wrote a song on the night of J. Bruce's death. etc. " Heavy hooks and Viking sagas from Swedish AOR giants “People have been saying rock is dead. But it’s just been on vacation,” quips Joey Tempest. “It returns again in February, believe me.” According to Europe’s frontman, the Swedish group’s tenth studio album, War Of Kings, maintains their creative purple patch and is “one of the heaviest Europe albums yet”. For the new record the band collaborated with producer of the moment Dave Cobb after hearing Pressure And Time, the 2011 album he’d made with Rival Sons. “It had heart and soul, it was cocky and it had the swagger we wanted,” Tempest explains from his studio in Stockholm. “We told our management we had to work with him.” Some 12 tracks were recorded, including a title song “loosely based” on the Viking saga book The Long Ships. “There’s another really majestic one called The Second Day,” he adds, “which is in the style of No Stone Unturned [from Europe’s 2009 album Last Look At Eden], and California 405 is another that I really like.” Dave Cobb, who also oversaw California Breed’s recent debut album, favours a spontaneous method of recording that took that band’s frontman, Glenn Hughes, by surprise. And Tempest had a similar experience. “Yeah, Dave captures things as live as possible,” he confirms. “We’ve used a lot of vintage gear, and the results sound amazing. We even wrote a song with him on the night of Jack Bruce’s death which will probably be called Angels With Broken Hearts.” War Of Kings will be released via Europe’s new label, UDR Records."
