What do you guys think about the special VIP packages (including meet and greet etc) that will be on sale at the local venues' ticket offices? Would you pay extra to meet our guys? Personally I think it would take the fun out of meeting them. If the spontaneity is gone, the fun is gone, too. But what are your opinions on this? Well, my twinsister and i, mad Europe maniacs since 86, definitely think these VIP-M & Gs are entirely ridiculous. We attended the previous UK tour in April 2014, and after the gig in Bristol on 11th April met the whole band, stood at the (white, brand new, enormous) bus and talked to John Leven for about 50 minutes, shared couple of beers (and a bit of very private information with him, made pictures, got plecturms, got autographs, talked to, hugged and kissed them all - all in all the entire time we spent with/around the band - all of them - was about 1,5 hrs - all for free. We just had incredible luck and were at the right place at the right time - the only way to be. Whereas to pay 125 pounds for a *hi* + *picture* + *autograph* + *bye* is just, as i said, ridiculous, pathetic, not cool, not rock-n-roll, nothing. Not to forget that for them, its nothing but work, at the very best its a chore to get over and done with, before they can finally concentrate on that evenings gig.. plus feeling like *monkeys on display in the zoo*.. No people, this crap should be left for the Kiss-army, prepared to pay 1000 usd for 5 minutes with their granddads. We sure understand that they, Europe, too need to make sure their bills are paid and retirement is cared for haha, but sorry people - this is just no way no how. We adore them to death, always have and always will, but never in life would we pay money to stand in line of eager idiots, pardon my French, waiting for their 1 minute of *hi, click, bye*. We will just attend the two London gigs this time and just hope all we can to manage to get into the front rows. Rock on. Rocklady

Welcome to the forum, rocklady70! I have to admit I'm not too keen on the "meet and greet" concept either. If you want to spend your money on that stuff, go ahead, it's your money. But it's not something that I want to take part in.

Nothing to add really. I just don't understand the whole thing.

I have ticket for M & Greet London, I think each spent their money on what you want, I never dare to judge where people spent their money (a better car, a better house, beers, clothes, travelling ...) as long as you do not harm anyone . Freedom to do what you want without being harshly judged, this I think is more "ROCK", I do not believe I'm going to go to a zoo or anything like that. They are my beloved band and will be an honor and pleasure to greet them, ... nothing more.

I'm not judging anyone. I'm just saying that I personally don't like the concept - Paying money to meet someone - and that I wouldn't want to take part in it myself.

Im not judging anyone, im just expressing my opinion - that, IMO, meet and greets for money - especially for heavy-metal bands, !!ESPECIALLY if we are talking about the band EUROPE!! (not all the justin bieber idiots of this world hahaha) - are pathetic and ridiculous - for all the reasons that i have listed, and that i personally would NEVER do them. To each their own people! Rock on!

But this is rock and business, we don't have to forget it. My opinion: I would have liked a free M & G, for sure, in which the selection of fans that might be there, would have not done by money, but the things are so, because Europe has managed to again occupy an important place and their "management team" or people who take their economy part is going to try to monetize. It is so. And I understand it. I see it every day in all sectors. There are other bands with even more unfair initiatives for the fans, as U2 if you are looking to get a ticket to their concerts you should become a "fan" and pay an annual "fee" to access the presale or otherwise do not get a ticket, at least in my country, I tried some months ago, I'm not fan and was impossible. I'm not saying this justifies anything, but this is a market and if the merchandise value increases, raises its price. And EUROPE is a "merchandise incrementing its value". But I fully understand that there are people who is not willing to pay to greet someone even if it is your favorite rock band. I understand, but I personally do not care. I never pay € 100 to see 22 men kicking a ball in a football stadium, and there are people who do it ... I think it's all a matter of priorities.

I met them at Bloodstock a few years ago, Ian was ace. Really funny bloke, the rest were all cool except Joey. For some strange reason that only he can explain, he refused point blank to sign Azalea Place. My point is that it was free and a really nice touch for the band to do that. I personally think that once you have paid for your ticket that should be that. I don't agree that ANY band, no matter how famous should try to make extra money out of real LOYAL fans. However its each to their own and I dont judge what people want to spend their hard earned money on. Rock on. Also one other thing. There is alot of BSR fans reckon that EUROPE are being blown off the stage at these gigs. I very much doubt it but if true its kind of backfired on doing a co-headliner tour. Dont even get me started on the 70 minute show, that is a total piss take. It will my daughters very first gig, she loves superstitious, then again who dont, ha ha \M/ I personally hope that they play Girl from Lebanon, not Sign of the times when they come to Wolverhampton.
