Ok in our hotel room, can't sleep. Adrenaline pumped up and happy as a little kid on christmas!
First of all it was a crazy ride to Stockholm and Upplands Väsby.
Got there around 10:30 in the evening!
Met Tord at the merch stand and talked to him a little bit. Got to know some nice pesonal stuff hehe. Not going to tell but it will soon be a surprise for you all!
Then went to listen to Gothard but could not stand there that long because it was already starting to get a lot of people at Europes stage so had to go back ther and get a good place.
The guys enter the stage on time and looks great and pumped up and ready to give us a great ride!
And they sure did. Nice surprises with the guitaris from Heat and the beautiful and talented Tone Norum!
Sound is amasing and the light show is breath taking! Q-lan had really done a superb work here!
And the set list then! Soo freeking awsome set list! Had just before talked with Tord and he just said that "Oh well they are probably going to do the same set list" Oh boy he was so wrong!
So both tumbs up and 10/10 for the show and guest. 2 hours of pleasure and good music!
After the show we missed the last train back to Arlanda and Radisson sas sky city hotel so we had to wait and try to get a taxi.
Finally got back to Arlanda and the hotel we grabbed something to eat and drink and walked up to the hotel reception. And there we could not belive our eyes! Both Mr Norum and Mr Tempest was standing there with half of their crew to check in at the same hotel as us!
What luck! We started talking first with Norum about the gig and about the sound and equipment. Because tonight they had to play with half of their ordinary equimentand half rental stuff because the rest of the stuff was on a big truck going over to Wales.
Mr Norum is always so nice, calm and friendly. We got huggs and handshakes.
Over to Me Tempest, he was a bit tired and calm and quiet. But we talked about tonights gig and also about the Toranda gig. He said it was a great gig but a bit to bright and sunny that late in the night.
We got some photos and handshakes from Joey and said good night and bye.
But ended u in the same elevator as them. Talked some words again and found out that they had got in on the wrong elevator and floor.
Poor guys was so tired! We laughed and said good night and bye again.
So the crazy AND expensive trip was sure worth it!
Videos coming as soon as I get back home.
But here are some photos.
(Sorry for the crappy quality but this night I focused on video and to enjoy the show with my wife)
www.dropbox.com/sh/nwqmtc00grlsu1l/AADmWAyDj656t70u_BlpIeCNaYes , what an incredibly good show !
They were supposed to play 1:45, and finally the show lasted 2 full hours !
With great surprises for my tastes :
-Open your heart in the real full version.
-Dance the night away !
So so so happy to have heard it live !
Tone Norum was charming. When they were together in the middle of the stage, JTempest and her, I found them so cute : a perfect couple from an esthetic point of view.
The lights very good, too.
The only bad point IMO was the sound. I don't share your enthusiasm on this point,
P3aphoto. Perhaps it was good if you were far from the stage, I don't know ; but from the 3rd row where I was, it sounded awful : half of the time completely saturated. JTempest voice couldn't be heard at all sometimes ; not to talk about Mic... Even Norum I couldn't hear clearly. The worst sound since the Malmö show in 2011, IMO. But if they had to rent heir material, that's maybe why it sounded so bad...
But everything else was so awesome that I'm really happy with this show.
Fantastic setlist.
And JTempest was extraordinary. (I must say that I like his new clothes :I've criticized very often his strange shirts on stage here, but this time, he was just perfect, very elegant, so handsome. The real "king" as he must be
). What an energy he's got ! That man knows his job
. Unfortunately, his voice was often not aaudible, but he sang his famous "baaabyyyy, baby !",with this special thing in his voice that makes me shiver delisciously.
The other members were fantastic, too.
-Ian, so brilliant. During his solo, the funny thing is that he almost lost one of his drumsticks, but -I don't how !- he finally took it back miraculously, without loosing at all his tempo. An ace !
-Leven had his usual huge presence on stage. When he walks somewhere, he fills all the space. At the end, I articulated a "thank you" to him because he came very near, and he winked at me with an adorable smile.
-Norum seemed very happy too, smiling to the crowd. He's always a genious, but sometimes stays in his own world. This time he was obviously very pleased. It seems to me that at the end he sent me a friendly little hello, but I'm not completely sure it was really for me, actually ; maybe someone else just behind me
-Mic played some nice intro before OYH, and another one I can't remember where exactly. It's nice when we can hear him playing some melodies all alone. He gets the magic touch. Yes, he's the one who gives magic and emotion to the show.
