Good luck to all forum users that are going to attend the Festival in Vasby. I'd love to be there but this time I can't  . My heart and my thoughts will be there. All the best ( Michaela Italy, guesswho?, jarkam ... and more) enjoy much ! Thank you Eva Tomorrow ! I'm in Sweden, so I say "Hej" to all of you.  I can't get connected on facebook... But I can on this forum (don't ask me why : some mysteries of my every day life !  ) Did you noticed Ian post : "We're just done with the rehearsals for tomorrow's show in our hometown Väsby. It's gonna be great fun and some nice surprizes!" What does it mean, In your opinion ? I was just asking myself if EUROPE would play a new song before the recording of their next album , like they did with "Doghouse" many months before BOB. All right, I will have my camera ready for any surprise it could be : maybe I will be able to use it correctly, who knows ?? -Eh yes, I'm not the talented P3aphoto, unfortunately ; so don't have too many hopes !) The show will be very late : around midnight. It won't help me. |

Hej friends ! I'm in upplands vasby now, with my husband. And I had a big fear when we arrived, as the man at the reception told me he had NO RESERVATION for me !!! My room was booked since april, and he just announced me that it had been cancelled, and the hotel is full because of the festival.  Finally he found a room for me, but I had to fight a little bit !    But everything is OK now. we've got our room (with a direct sight on the 2 stages...) and our pass for the festival.  Concerning NORUM, Eva Tomorrow , not sure I will have the opportunity to see him, because as you know, EUROPE will have another show tomorrow in Wales, and today they are playing very very late (around midnight). So, they'll probably run towards the airport just after their concert. Now, about the "surprise", yes I didn't think about this possibility : a guest. Maybe you're right. We'll see. I'll bring my camera and my phone, ready to film something interesting !  |

Allright, I know at least one of the surprises promised by Ian for tonight.
Michaela told me that this morning, while the soundcheck, a very special person came on stage with the band for a rehearsal.
It's not Tony Reno.
It's someone else, related to NORUM...
Did you guess who ?

I've just met Tone-Irene and Michaela in front of the stage where EUROPE will play tonight. Michaela was there since 10 in the morning, and she has seen Europe soundcheck. Lucky girl ! I've searched for beer Demon head, but didn't find it anywhere ! Now see the kind of room you may have in the Scandic : Beautiful room! It is a paradise for any EUROPE's fan. Tone !! Ok in our hotel room, can't sleep. Adrenaline pumped up and happy as a little kid on christmas!  First of all it was a crazy ride to Stockholm and Upplands Väsby. Got there around 10:30 in the evening! Met Tord at the merch stand and talked to him a little bit. Got to know some nice pesonal stuff hehe. Not going to tell but it will soon be a surprise for you all! Then went to listen to Gotthard but could not stand there that long because it was already starting to get a lot of people at Europes stage so had to go back there and get a good place. The guys enter the stage on time and looked great and pumped up and ready to give us a great ride! And they sure did. Nice surprises with the guitarist from Heat and the beautiful and talented Tone Norum! Sound was amasing and the light show was breath taking! Q-lan had really done a superb work here! Some small technical problems. But that is live shows for ya right! And the set list then! Soo freeking awsome set list! Had just before talked with Tord and he just said that "Oh well they are probably going to do the same set list" Oh boy he was so wrong! So both tumbs up and 10/10 for the show and guest. 2 hours of pleasure and good music! After the show we missed the last train back to Arlanda and Radisson blu sky city hotel so we had to wait and try to get a taxi. Finally got back to Arlanda and the hotel we grabbed something to eat and drink and walked up to the hotel reception. And there we could not belive our eyes! Both Mr Norum and Mr Tempest was standing there with half of their crew to check in at the same hotel as us! What luck! We started talking first with Norum about the gig and about the sound and equipment. Because tonight they had to play with half of their ordinary equimentand half rental stuff because the rest of the stuff was on a big truck going over to Wales. We also talked about the new up coming album and Norum said that it will be out in february next year. Norum is always so nice, calm and friendly. We got huggs and handshakes. Over to Tempest, he was a bit tired and calm and quiet but really nice. We talked about tonights gig and and he suddenly said that this set list was once in a life time and to quote him "We will never do this same thing again". And also about the Toranda gig. He said it was a great gig but a bit to bright and sunny that late in the night.  We got some photos and handshakes from Joey and said good night and bye. But ended u in the same elevator as them. Talked some words again and found out that they had got in on the wrong elevator and floor. Poor guys was so tired! We laughed and said good night and bye again. So the crazy AND expensive trip was sure worth it! Videos coming as soon as I get back home. But here are some photos. If any of you lucky bastards get to meet the band, someone do us a long distance favour and thank Norum for playing a 70s re issue strat for The Final Countdown. Nothing looks cooler for such a retro classic.
