Great Review on DVD / CD "Live at Sweden Rock" .... I loved it !! www.rockreport.be/review.asp?id=3933EUROPE Live At Sweden Rock - 30th Anniversary Show © 2013 earMUSIC/V2RECORDS hard rock live album 28 tracks - TT 120:16 release date: October 21, 2013
" ... It’s a scary world we live in, people. Very scary, in fact. People are becoming afraid of beards, the future is uncertain due to the self-inflicted unbalancing of nature, the power of economics are shifting dramatically and if you’re out of a job these days, well, good luck.
Fortunately there’s music, good music, excellent music and Europe. Not the sorry excuse for a United European Whatever Force, led by a Belgian president, but the band.
The Swedes of Europe have only one problem: they were incredibly successful in the eighties. For most bands this is in fact a blessing but Europe are not “most bands”, they are an ever-evolving unit of mighty fine musicians and they will probably never board the ever so popular nostalgia-train. And rightfully so, because what Europe have been showing us since comeback album ‘Start From The Dark’ is nothing short of amazing. They have found a place of their own in the strange modern world of music. And without being preposterously pompous or excessively experimental. The class acts in Europe embraced their past and made something of it which is not sounding ridiculous in this day and age.
So what is to be found on this double platter? Well, everything that followers of this band have come to expect: a well-balanced set-list that combines the old with the new and then some. The ‘then some’ is when Scott Gorham joins them for ‘Jailbreak’ (Thin Lizzy) and Michael Schenker for ‘Lights Out’ (U.F.O.). Did I mention already that I think Europe is in a class of their own altogether? A different story than most of their contemporaries, by the way ..."
