You were right! Ok, once again this forum has proven to be a place with very good information ... Thx for shared it with us. About the studio:Ian yesterday hung several pictures on facebook of Dave in studio with John Norum playing guitar ... There are voices in facebook asking the band to update the Blog and hang videos like they did with "Last Look at Eden" I support these requests, ... But at the moment, only Ian is responsive to our requests and each day he gives us a photo and comment How nice to start the day with a 'goog morning' by Ian! Here is what he wrote few minutes ago on his FB page: "We finished recording the basic tracks for the album yesterday! Now we're focusing on overdubs, solos and vocals. Maaaan this album will kick your ass, i know cause my ass is all sore!" If the guys could only imagine how good it works to involve us fans in this way, letting us feel closer to them, they would probably update sites, and blogs, and twitter etc. more, more frequently.... Totally agree Vicky (nice to see you over here !) ... If you've read comments there some fans (most of them people from this forum ) who are "asking" please update the Blog and share some video ... as you say is a way "to engage and keep us alive" but Ian is really our only channel of info and communication ... This is an issue that began in the final stage of "Last Look at Eden" until then the band was active and receptive to their fans and from there, things changed. Let's see what happens ... but I see difficult, the position of the band in this sense has been very immobile. I wrote a message on the official website on facebook when they made public the name of the producer and the record company for try to making visible the need to keep live the sites of supporting band for us, hopefully I'm not disturbing anyone, it was not my intention, well, probably not and such comments go unnoticed but shame.

LAST NEWS vía Facebook by
" ... Hey friends! Joey's on the screen and Dave in the producers chair working on the very last vocal part before the whole album's done! Today is the last recording day in the studio. Tomorrow Dave and John (the engineer) goes back to Nashville... to start mixing the songs. This has been the smoothest and the coolest Europe album to record ever. I never heard Joey sing better than this, or any of us play better either. Working with Dave and John has been pure joy. I'm soooo fuxxing excited!!! ... "

As Ian tells us the album is almost finished, this implies that they have recorded in two weeks. It has been very "fast", is not whether this is good or bad, probably does not mean anything, but this time has been very fast ... do not believe? What is clear is that Ian is thrilled with the outcome, I trust in his comments, it's a very genuine guy Let's see !!

I agree, that was very fast. Probably they had a lot of songs almost finished and they had a clear idea of how they should sound. I kinda like some overproduction but I would say that they'll maybe keep this album more "raw" (speculating here, I don't really have an idea about the time that it takes to record an album).

No doubt it was shorter than for BOB. Even for LLAE, it was longer (as far as I remember the posts they made about it on the blog they had at that time...). But perhaps the difference is that now, they had 2 sessions actually : one in a working studio where they wrote the songs, and another one in a recording studio. For BOB, some of the songs were created directly during the recording session with Mr "Caveman". There's another possibility, as well : they decided to just record -strictly speaking- the album very quickly, but they will finalyze it later. It seems to me that's what they did for "Secret Society" : making the production by themselves ( Stein, correct me if I'm wrong !) ? I've read somewhere they said it was really a hard hard work !

Joey talks about the new album in facebook Hi Friends
Well, you always hear it here first. We have finished the recording of our 10th album! Twelve songs were recorded at the the brand new PanGaia studios in Stockholm where we were the very first artist to record. We loved it! The studio is absolutely top of the range and the staff was incredibly helpful. Of course we packed the place full of vintage microphones and "gear" to create an atmosphere on this record and to warm the sound up. Dave Cobb, our producer, really brought something amazing to this album and made us play from heart and soul. He will now mix it in his studio in the US. This record sounds truly enigmatic! what a great vibe! As always we're on a new journey with every record we make and this time we have really gone for it. We can't wait for you guys to hear it! We did film some stuff during the recording and will put something together for you guys in a little while.
All the best
Joey

Really excited!! Can't wait for the new album. Hopefully it will be available here in Australia, though I have my doubts seeing how you can't even get 'Last Look at Eden' any more. Still, keeping my fingers crossed.

I would like to write more here, always running out of time these days! But I feel at home here. Just wanted to share a few impressions from the recent news... First of all, the message from Joey. Where he starts "well, you always hear it first", meaning the FB official page. But at the same time it is an acknowledge that he sees and he reads the comments. He is very short in words but I am quite sure he meant " you see guys, this is our choice. No question with that but we have our eyes and ears open to you..." I think we can't struggle with whatever reason they have not to update the official website so often as we would like. But there's for sure a reason which is NOT the fact they don't care. I personally think that Joey posted his comments on FB in person, but I may be wrong of course... Then going to the announcement today: the War of Kings press release! I can't be but excited! Puzzled by that photo of them, sure I am, I first thought " na, it's not them! What's that weird jacket of Joey?" Then I "felt" deep inside there was something so true about it! It's not a normal plain picture. Some say its too much photoshopped, some say "hey Tallee you always do a great job as ever!" maybe just to praise her or maybe not... Well, what I have to say is that it looks to me as an "enigmatic" representation for sure... And overall, I am quite sure that Joey in particular is reading all the comments and smiling. As usual with Europe, some agree, some don't, and some are fiercely complaining, but that's the way the band wants to look at them. So it has got a meaning for sure. Or maybe not! That's the question... After all, didn't they say this album is enigmatic? Can't wait!!!
