Joey did an interview yesterday in BRFM (UK) promoting the new dvd. And he said the band plans for 2014 are: To write new songs in January/February/March, then to record the album in May/June and release it in european Autumn. Thanks Fernanda. Seems like Joey, in the image of the Youtube's video, is answering my therory.

But sure it will be worth it!!

I found this comment of Joey very interesting on the new album in this interview (Published today) , ... confirms a change in musical style, not so much blues, ... surely surprise us again! I love it! Joey says : " ... We’re just starting now really. We want to record it next year and release it in Autumn next year. That will be our tenth album and I really hope that plan sticks because that would be great, releasing our tenth album in the autumn next year. We’ve just started throwing some riffs around so it’s too early to say much but we don’t want to dwell or dive too much more into the blues, soul feel. We believe on “Bag of Bones” we really found that expression, that rock and roll blues expression we thought we’d never find, I’m still amazed that we managed to do an album like that. Like we usually do we’ll move a little to the left and to the right and make something interesting and do something different on the next one as well..."

It's a few times that Joey states in interviews that they're not going further into the blues with the next album. I'm very curious about what could be their next move...

It's a few times that Joey states in interviews that they're not going further into the blues with the next album. I'm very curious about what could be their next move... Well, it's quite clear what their direction will be: "a little to the left and to the right and make something interesting and do something different on the next one as well..." Really, I'm curious too, and I'm not so discontent if they don't go deeper into the blues... I keep believing that Joey's voice is more suitable for something different, even if he does a great job with blues too. I'm nostalgic about the albums preceding Bag of Bones, that unfortunately was not so able to grasp my heart...

Yes, very interesting, new album, new sound? Let's see ... I'd like that they returned a bit to the sound of "Start from the Dark" album ... the energy of songs like "Start from the Dark" or "Wake up call"

I felt a little sorry when I read that about not going further with the BOB's sound. I'm really pleased with that feeling and they seemed proud about that old school sound.

I felt a little sorry when I read that about not going further with the BOB's sound. I'm really pleased with that feeling and they seemed proud about that old school sound. They hardly repeat themselves and all the albums are quite different from each other. Actually I feared that this time they had found their ultimate dimension with the blues (since John N. seems very involved in it) but I prefer when they walk in more straight hard rock territories. I really don't know what to expect, but that's the good thing: it's gonna be a big surprise, as ever.

Yes, for sure but I liked so much that last sound, the classic bands I use to hear, that matches perfectlly with current Joey's way of singing. I don't know, lets see. If only they don't try to go by the industrial-nu-metal road ( Song nº 12 way, I mean) or a highly over-produced album like OOTW I'll be happy.
