Hey, you know what ? Ijust realize it could mean there'll be a european tour next spring... Sometimes, when they are touring in Spain, Europe plays in France, too. Will it be the same in spring 2014 ? I'm not sure Guess, I see it difficult, (maybe I'm wrong) but I think the tour of "BAG OF BONES" in EUROPE already was last year, I believe that somehow these are the dates that Spain didn't have on that tour, .. . it was weird because whenever EUROPE has toured in our continent has done here too, but after the great success in the last tour with Def leppard and Whitesnake, the promoters have taken advantage of this situation for to give us some dates here. Anyway ... who knows ?? I jus realize something else : I'm living in the south-west of France, so not far at all from Spain ! In fact, it's closer for me to go to a show in Barcelona than in Strasbourg, Paris and even Lyon, like I did last year !

The press picks up the upcoming concerts of the band in SPAIN in 2014. Europe returns to Spain in March 2014!
www.elladooscurodelaluna.com/noticias/europe-vuelve-a-espana-en-marzo-de-2014/
" This time they come alone... The Swedes again in March next year to Spain, to offer three concerts in which, now able to offer the entire show with presenting their last studio album, Bag of Bones ..."
" ...Bag of Bones is the 9th studio album from EUROPE, who after their official return in 2003 are living a second youth. This magnificent state of form is manifested in their powerful and direct delivered, and is also certified with the four albums released by the band since the meeting.
Starting from the dark, Start from the Dark (2004), which was No. 2 in their native Sweden, and followed the brilliant Secret Society (2006), which gave a more melodic twist to their songs. These two studies showed a renewed sound of the band, much more modern, contrasting with the Glam Rock that made them successful in the 80s...
The last two rounds of EUROPE, however, have sought a much more classic, giving vent to their influences and exploring different styles, but without losing the distinctive touch of modernity that has characterized this second phase: Last Look at Eden (2009), which reached the top of the lists of their country, and said Bag of Bones (2012), directed more toward the blues..."
"...The album was produced by Kevin Shirley, known for his work with JOURNEY, IRON MAIDEN, RUSH, AERROSMITH, MR. BIG, DREAM THEATER, LED ZEPPELIN or Joe Bonamassa, who just collaborated with his guitar and Blues soul in the song that gives name to the album, Bag of Bones. You have reached the second place in sales in Sweden, also getting good results in the rest of the world. For many critics of the press, Bag of Bones is their best album in 30 years of career..."

In just a few days for band concerts in Spain, and the press is talking about it ... rockthebestmusic.com/2014/03/gira-europe-espana-marzo.htmlThe EUROPE Tour arrives in Spain this month The band Joey Tempest, which is one of the highlights of its career, will be in Spain at the end of this March. Europe are still presenting their remarkable Bag Of Bones, which have already walked over many countries, including Spain sharing the stage with Def Leppard and Whitesnake. This time, Europe will be the main protagonists of the three nights announced by the promoter Rock 'N' Rock, for which tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster. I saw a few years ago touring with his previous studio and the truth, I enjoyed a completely oiled band in the maturity of their career and well settled in a change of style that has not been amused everyone, but defending brilliantly on stage. A week before the start of the EUROPE Mini Tour by Spain , ... I remember they did EUROPEAN TOUR after the release of album "BAG OF BONES" and in that tour my country had no dates ... for some it was a disappointment but had us prepared big surprises, first with the announcement of the tour last June with DEF LEPPARD and WHITESNAKE which were a unique and unrepeatable concerts, for me to see in the same night singing to Tempest, Coverdale and Elliot is something very special and magical, I think they could have exported that tour by other countries with the same success that in Spain. The consequence of the success of that tour were these three dates that were missing. EUROPE in Spain is a very loved and respected band, the rock press always makes very good reviews of their albums especially in this second stage and of their gigs, here is understood very well the change of the band and their turn towards a more classic rock that the band has done, applauding the risk to them is, of course the fact that they have not lived of their past, has been greatly appreciated and there is unanimity in how big they are as musicians. Some of the best comments about this band I've read in the press of rock have been in Spain. Let's see how about this tour? Many webs talk about the upcoming concerts ... and that's a good thing! Here is a link where a website speaks of "The best concerts of the year 2014 in Spain" people like Scorpions , Beyonce or EUROPE ... musicanueva.es/entradas/conciertos-de-marzo-2014/

I'm wondering about the setlist in Spain. These dates are not framed in the Tour "Bag of Bones", has not been announced a thematic concert like the tour in Sweden "Wings Over Sweden", so I think they have the freedom to introduce some of those songs less exposed live they could give us some surprise, I'm thinking of songs like "On broken wings", "Heart of Stone", "I'll cry for you" ... would be great! Let's see ...

4 days ago, article on the band for the upcoming concerts titled to: EUROPE: THE WINGS PRESENTTEXT: XAVI MARTINEZ SOURCE: ROCK ON "... Next week marks the start of a new tour of Europe by Spanish land, and I think the time has come to "Rock On" attempting to break down the prejudices of much rock 'serious' to the quintet, as this combo is one of brighter than the old continent has within the hard rock melodic overtones...""...Their tours shows them in full authority, with an image according to the times and blindly trusting their new material, basing his recitals on new songs. There is a sense of looking forward, in fact, reaches today, where new material has always preponderance, obviously without forgetting key moments from his past...""...In 2004, they published 'Start From The Dark', a very good job where the combo gives a notorious contemporary artist varnish, being the more obscure songs, but without losing the melodic identity that has always characterized them...""...Established in the scene again , Europe still running discs ( like a band in full growth ) , and in 2006 released 'Secret Society ' , maybe another good album suffers from too let arise the current vein, too serious tunings and strange melodic lines . Nothing stops them . The public responds and in 2009 published 'Last Look At Eden' : while still sounding modern retake of their classic sound , as the same band stated: " a modern retro rock album ." Another hit and also live not fail, offering impeccable suggest concerts where they still have a lot to say . Last reference study 'Bag Of Bones' , 2012, another collection of songs careful where your usual stamp is added a clear influence of blues , resulting in an album that suggests the type of hard rock practicing Led Zeppelin. In short, a recording career in the worth and dig some upcoming gigs that presumably show them as fit as current and last summer , when they played in these parts with Whitesnake and Def Leppard . A very good opportunity for bigots to discover one of the best hard rock bands that gave the old (and forgive the redundancy back again) Europe..."rockononline.com/2014/03/19/europe-las-alas-del-presente/

The Europe's uneasy relationship with its past SOURCE: THE METAL CIRCUS DATE: 25/03/2014 WRITER: Sergi Ramos
www.themetalcircus.com/entrevistas/la-dificil-relacion-de-europe-con-su-pasado/
Europe are just around the corner. The legendary Swedish band super-sellings of Joey Tempest and John Norum takes nearly two years promoting their latest album, "Bag of Bones". In it, the group opted for a more bluesy and basic sound, away from the big keyboards and synthesizers of the 80s and a logical evolution from the meeting and from the activity with "Start From The Dark", and ten years ago.
The band has already passed through our country with Def Leppard and Whitesnake in the summer of 2013, though shows just one hour, pretty tight to the usual classics without much room for novelty. That will be different on this occasion. The band will perform on Thursday in Madrid (La Riviera, with Jorge Salán) in Bilbao on Friday (Santana 27, next to Space Octopus) and Barcelona on Saturday (Sant Jordi Club, with Hardreams). And do not panic: when a couple of years ago Tempest told us that the set-list of Europe would have less and less new threads classics did not say very radical tone.
"We are still touring with the album" Bag of Bones ", but we walk tucked into the spirit of the 30th anniversary of the band, so I think we're going to mix a bit of everything" says by phone from London, where he lives for many years . "We will play the oldest known songs, new and some not usually touch. "Bag of Bones" remains an important priority for us as a band. It will be an interesting show. Well balanced and powerful offers."
Europe is a band that was not afraid to propel their new tracks live since returning to the fore. Already in the tour of "Start From The Dark" the setlist was a mix of old and new, something that has remained-even part has increased in recent times-new. The songs on that album, "Secret Society", "Last Look at Eden" and most recently "Bag of Bones" takes center stage more than half the setlist.
"A lot of bands that have reunited to play live oldies" Tempest said referring to many of his peers. We promised ourselves that we should be adventurous and compose new music, not to become complacent. We were lucky, because the public has liked what we have done. "Last Look at Eden" was a hit and even when we returned to "Start From The Dark" We got very good feedback from the public. Many of these songs have become classics. Even now a new topic as "Firebox" is becoming popular in the direct. There are songs that will be with us long. "
That has not been the case throughout the tour. For a few recent shows in Sweden and Japan, the band opted to play their entire album "Wings of Tomorrow", in activities within its thirtieth anniversary. A risky decision. There are big differences between Europe then and now ("we have a love-hate relationship with the old songs," he jokes) but songs like "Aphasia" and "Wasted Time" are still little gems that diehard fans enjoy. Not so much the band.
"On tour we did in Sweden learned that there are certain songs that we will never play more live" remarks. "But some of the reincorporate these songs to our set list. "Dance the Night Away" was a good topic to touch and "Wasted Time". These enjoyed it and I think we will use them in the future repertoires. "
"It's possible we bring us some songs to Spain, taking the opportunity" alerts
Would it work in Spain play songs from those albums? Much of the public is going to see in Europe the only known direct hits. Now songs like "Yesterday's News" do not wake the reaction of hits. Much less "Seven Door Hotel" or "Scream of Anger". Tempest disagrees.
"The Spanish public is a big fan of rock and know our material consciousness" screen. Of course "the only countries in which we played" Wings of Tomorrow "were full Sweden and Japan. These are countries in which the disc originally worked very well and was very successful. "Wings of Tomorrow" was a very successful album in Sweden, before the arrival of "The Final Countdown". In many countries, "The Final Countdown" was the emergence of Europe, but in Sweden it was before. "Not surprisingly, the record got a respectable Top20 in his native country. But that little achievement would ousted two years later with "The Final Countdown", which was number one in Sweden, Switzerland and France and obtained positions in the Top 10 in Germany, and the United States and Canada. Important for a Swedish hard rock band."
How were they those years for Europe? In 1986 and 1987 were the kings of hard rock with the bands of the era. Few songs sounded more in the late 80 "Rock The Night", "Cherokee and own" The Final Countdown ".
"We had early twenties at the time and were in the middle of everything in the eighties" recalls Tempest. "We, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and all those bands were new, which we broke boundaries. There were new sounds, the record he had much money, and MTV was exploding everywhere. It was a tremendous time, "he recalls.
Of the 80 has been the memory of an era of excess, of bombastic productions, promotion campaigns inflated and exaggerated and looks so steep as ridiculous, something that Europe were as much a part as any other band.
"Journalists know that 80 had many great moments, despite all the crap that also brought" says vocalist. "There were many great productions, some perhaps somewhat inflated, but there were great bands playing. Songs like 'Rock The Night' or 'Superstitious' are good songs, good compositions. Yields were somewhat exaggerated but no the compositions. "
"The best albums are hard rock of the late 70s and early 80s," he continues. "Back in Black" by AC / DC, for example, is a great record. Mutt Lange Before going crazy with their productions, made some really great things. Audioslave again that style and started again when the hard rock sounded again as it should. We know what are the productions of today, we have to sound like, we're hearing a lot of music usually. We engage a lot and keep our feet on the ground support. "Bag of Bones" had a very warm and hard rock sound and that has given freshness "
"Obviously, we compose and arrange songs in a different way today. We grooviest and it's a different time. We do not want to live in the past, but playing "Wings of Tomorrow" was a fun experience. Revisiting that time had his grace "he says.
Now that two years have passed since the last album and the tour is on its last legs? With Europe under the sleeve? For more of the same, as expected. Not that we dislike.
"We have started to write and have several ideas in motion" reveals the musician. "We'll go to the studio in October and we will edit new album in early 2015. Then we will go on tour again. It will be our tenth album and we want to make good use of the opportunity. "
Although the album achieved a respectable number two on the Swedish charts and positions more or less discrete but right in the world, no one is aware that Europe is primarily a live band. The band spends most of his time on the road, turning up and down, cycled almost year and a half with each disc. Does it make sense to continue editing studio albums?
"I think it is still important to make records" states categorically. "The business has changed but it is important to show where you are musically. It is important for developers, advertisers and the whole environment still believe in you. Being active is what you get the covers and headlining tours. Being alive is important. It does not give much money to release an album, at this point, but still an example of perseverance and, in that sense, necessary. "
