WASTED TIME is a tiebreaker??? NO! it's a WINNER! (although SCREAM OF ANGER doesn't deserve to be kicked out... ) Wow, that was a fast tie-break! So we have the final results on the Wings of tomorrow album (Mark-David, if you want to let us know if your choice would have been the same you’re welcome, but this won’t change the fact that Scream of anger is out . Oh my, only seven songs discarded ‘til now and I’m already in trouble to choose the 4 to be saved in phase two! ) So our definitive Wings of tomorrow selection is: 1. Open your heart: 11 2. Stormwind: 9 3. Aphasia: 9 4. Wings of tomorrow: 9 5. Dreamer: 9 6. Wasted time: 8 (tie-break winner) 7. Scream of Anger: 8 votes 8. Treated bad again: 3 votes 9. Dance the night away: 3 votes 10. Lyin’ eyes: 3 votesI somehow knew that Wasted Time was a favorite of the board and that it would have fought for his spot. But I thought that maybe the title track would have suffered more troubles. While I agree with europemagnum that “Scream” deserved to make a longer run, I think it has suffered the “Carrie” effect: We had it so many times that we’re probably done with it. On the other side it seems we never "Open our heart" enough!. Apart from that first song the votes of the community have been equally distributed and this confirms how this album has its own monolithic essence (as some of you have pointed out). We had some fun dissectioning it but, altogether, it remains solid like a (hard) rock.

For me the biggest surprises that have been left behind: "In the future to come" and "Scream of Anger" and the same way goes "Carrie". "Scream of Anger", has never been one of my favorite songs of WOT until I heard it in Live, ... I loved it, it's one of those songs that surprise in live. Joey has to make a great vocal effort and brings forth the song brilliantly, ... Shame the say it goodbye . @ gemaim, ... I think you were very brave :clap:taking responsibility for not putting in your selection the song TFC, you know, for moments like this, the thread is REALLY GREAT ! So far in this thread some conclusions about the selection of THE FINAL COUNTDOWN album from the "hardcore EUROPE's fans" is that: 1) Carrie is one of the least voted songs and probably not pass this cut 2) Even one of the user (very brave indeed...) hasn't included in her selection TFC So, ...Do you think that the world would understand these results ? and the band ?? I really would like to know what is their opinion about it? Let's see ... ready for more surprises !

The good thing here IMHO is that we do not have to take responsabilities except that with ourselves. I must confess that in my first post I cheated a little (but ssshhh, it's a secret! ): we don't have the possibility to choose what really is the best song. It would be crazy. And it wouldn't be a reliable choice neither if we were 200.000 voters. What we can do is choosing the most important for us. That, for me, counts even more. We are not going to perform a setlist in front of an audience that could be disappointed if we don't play Scream of anger, rock the night or even TFC. Guesswho said she's getting tired of rock the night. I understand her (even if I'm still not with that particular song). And I'm sure that, more than once, the band itself has been tired of playing some songs over and over again. But could they do without? I don't think so. They are doomed to perform in any single gig the best show ever, to give the greatest possible satisfaction to their audience which is mostly composed by people that want to hear Rock the night. We, here in this forum, don't have this curse. As europemagnum has perfectly resumed: how could I exclude Carrie & Rock the night? because we can! The people out there would understand. And the band, if they'd read us, too. edit: one more good thing, now that I think about it: the casual visitor that drops in to read this thread could also realize, once and forever, that Europe is, indeed, much more than just TFC...

This turn I'm on time:) First of all - and please try not to kill me - I must confess I don't like TFC album so much....especially the title track. I do say it's a giant of the eighties and a sort of milestone in music, that's true. And it's true I do jump every time I listen to it, especially live: it's our flag, in a way. But, still, I don't like that song like other Europe masterpieces. It doesn't communicate me the deep feelings I sense while listening to other songs, like, for example, "Scream of anger" or "Girl from Lebanon" or, more recent, "Devil sing the blues"...So that's why I'm not going to pick up "the" song.....and let's pray JT"the boss" won't kill me. the choice! 3. Carrie 4. Danger on the track 5. Ninja 6. Cherokee 7. Time has come 10. Love chaser

Hi Marina Art, you will have later the chance to vote for Coast to coast. For this run we need to vote only the songs from The Final Countdown album. But don't worry, I also make confusion sometimes (e.g. I can't convince myself that Always the pretenders is on Secret society and not on Start from the dark!)

Absolutely, we do it, because we can ! (ok, we're doing free advertising for BON JOVI! ) You know "ent", I've had too many situations where talking about EUROPE someone has said, that: "Yes! "They are great I really like TFC and CARRIE" ... and that's when I think , for sure! and "Start from the Dark" and "Scream of Anger" and "In My Time" and many more! but unfortunately many people don't know because the shadow of TFC is too long. So, here and now to me is very healthy to put aside "CARRIE" ... maybe this is one of the little corners where EUROPE is really a band equally big as if they hadn't done TFC, and for this, maybe the world isn't ready , but we all know that is an absolutely true .
