Thanks ent, for the explanation. I've taken a look to some youtube clips about the film and... ummm, it's ok if it inspired Joey a song like that, but I don't think I'm gonna see that, not my cup of tea. My bunch of bizarre movies related with Europe is over with On The Loose. Regarding the group D, this has been soft and easy: I choose No stone untorned and Forever Travelling. Even Sign of the times is very appreciated by the fans and by the band (and they show it on stage playing it often) I never connected with that song and The Final Countdown... I love it but I didn't vote it in the first round and I won't do it now. By the way Eva Tomorrow: have you seen that spanish advertisement of a non-alcohol beer? It pretends to be gorgeus and funny but it just a piece of shit. I'm only pleased by Joey's pocket.

My vote goes to:
1) The final countdown (1986) 2) Forever travelling (2006)
The other two are SO GREAT live, but TFC and FT have got something special. TFC is - as I said - their luck and their curse, but...I'd still keep it!!! I got to know Europe the band because of that and I'll never EVER forget that day in my life!!!

By the way Eva Tomorrow: have you seen that spanish advertisement of a non-alcohol beer? It pretends to be gorgeus and funny but it just a piece of shit. I'm only pleased by Joey's pocket. Yes, of course, ... all summer long in spanish TV we had this stupid advert !!! There are two friends in a bar, and suddenly a voice said that one of them is a little "tinonino" while sounds The Final Countdown? What ? What's the meaning of this ? ... In one of the reviews written in Spain about concerts Europe & Def Leppard & Whitesnake, I read that EUROPE has "a good and a bad news; the good is "The Final Countdown" and the bad is "The Final Countdown" ..." I think it illustrates very well what this song means to the band.
Dear watercolourgirl , I was pretty sure that one of your choices would be "No stone unturned", ... Mic in this song is awesome!!

[/quote] Eva Tomorrow -- <laughing> No Stone is a magnificent piece! I must admit that I don't hear much else but the keyboards with that song, but I can't help myself. I do tend to listen to bands that have a keyboard or big organ presence. I wish I could play piano (and there are days when I wish I could play Pedal Steel Guitar!!) and have a huge appreciation for those who can. Alongside Mic, Bobby Wiseman and James Gray (Gray recently passed away - both played for Blue Rodeo) are fantastic players. Rob Preuss was my first keyboard hero. I heard him play on Spoons' "Arias & Symphonies" when I was 11 and I went running to my mother to ask if I could learn piano. She said no. But she did get me a guitar when I was 13... But I'm also a sucker for mandolin and think it's marvelous that you can play it -- I did read that you did play mandolin somewhere on here correctly, right? Do you ever play along with Mic on CD?

I still have my little mandolin in somewhere in the house of my parents, it was my introduction to my "short experience " into the music world, is an instrument with a precious and particular sound, here an example. Dear users, don't you think that "The Final Countdown" sounds lovely here ? I think so.

As I said, this session is really hard for me. I voted the four songs in the previous phases and now I don’t really know what to do. I have two possibilities: 1) The “low battery approach”. I figure myself on a desert island after a shipwreck . For a miracle my mp3 player still works but the files in it are damaged and it can only play the four songs of the group. And the battery is low, it’s enough to play only two songs! Which ones? 2) The “alien nation approach”. Finally planet Earth got in contact with an alien civilization. They have captured a signal from us of a TV broadcast from year 1986. The signal was very bad but they decoded and learned it was about a band dominating the charts in that year. Since they liked what they heard they asked us to send an HD audio file of Europe music. Our technology however allows us to send them only two songs . A pool of experts selected the four songs of the group and I was appointed by the "unified world government" to choose the two most representative . Which ones? Ok, that said, if I had to follow the “low battery” method I’d choose No stone unturned and Sign of the times. It’s something for me and I would survive better with these two songs. And I’d send to the aliens No stone unturned and The final countdown. They would be objectively totally blown away by this choice… mmh, but now I have to choose the best approach . Ok, cut the craps, I´ll be egoistic and go for myself: No stone unturned Sign of the timesAnd still I feel sorry for forever travelling! Bad group…bad, bad group .

No stone unturned Sign of the timesAnd still I feel sorry for forever travelling! Bad group…bad, bad group . If Forever Travelling wasn't in this group, this would have been my selection too, ent! And to quote Doris Day: "Que Sera, Sera Whatever Will Be, Will Be The future's not ours to see Que Sera, Sera What will be, will be"
