Would you like if in the next EUROPE album, one of the songs had a classical music theme ? I'm thinking about "A whiter shade of pale", where Procol harum found their inspiration in Bach for their music. Or else more radically Apocalyptica. Of course, Ian Haugland already played some drum solos with classical music during Europe shows. But here, I'm thinking about something really integrated in the song. A few years ago, for one of my first Europe shows, I've heard Norum playing a few notes of Bach during the soundcheck. It was short, but magic !

So, at the contrary of me, would you think it'd be a kind of "betrayal" if Europe was working in the way I'm talking about here, towards classical music ? Or else just a way to show they can play and do everything ?

IMO, one of the most achieved song mixing classical music and rock/pop is : "Russians" Sting wrote the lyrics , but the music if from Prokofiev. This is a beautiful creation. Very clever, too, as Sting had chosen a Russian composer to speak to "bad" soviets russians during the cold war ... So, he used a music from a classical composer, but wrote deep and excellent lyrics on it. That's this kind of thing I'd like Europe to do. But maybe it wouldn't be interesting, after all... Perhaps it would just be weird.
