This is the review to the concert in Santiago de Compostela ( MAGAZINE "ROLLING STONE" in Spain), ... I found interesting, we are ready also for this kind of comments about the band , right?? But it's not bad at all ... to me the writer tries to pollute speaking about the "EUROPE" that "he" has in his head, talking about everything except music, although this is supposed to be a review of a concert, but concludes praising the musical quality of the band, therefore I think he hasn't succeed in his main intention , with comments like these: rollingstone.es/concerts/view/def-leppard-whitesnake-y-europe-reviven-el-heavy-melodico-de-los-80"... trident representative of what we might call heavy melodic pop metal, hair metal [referring to hairstyles] or cock rock [rock cock in very macho reference to the content of some of their lyrics ..." (What ?? rock cock ? really ? LOL ... and " ... very macho reference to the content of some of their lyrics" ? It's sure that the guy isn't talk about CARRIE, I guess ... ) And then the man has a problem, he has to talk about EUROPE and he is losing in banality and outdated stereotypes like "that feed on the successes of the 80s" (obviously guy!, like all the bands! I don't understand why if EUROPE plays "Carrie" must be emphasize, but e.g when U2 plays "With or without you" nobody highlights it ...) and talks about: "... Instinct of radioformule and hair styling, managed to reach teenagers folders ... "(OMG! go guy and about the concert? please tell us something new !!! ...) And then at last something really interesting: "... In EUROPE, as the most of their guild, the arrival of grunge killed them ..." (Ok, it's true, but please is there anything about the music of the concert? ...) BUT the big moment arrives, the first opinion about their music, what he saw in Santiago and it's this: "... Europe still in shape (physically, too) and there is no doubt that they are excellent musicians ..." OK man, you got it !! It has taken time but he did ...
He talks good things about DEF LEPPARD (I agree), "... Def Leppard performed a concert focused and professional, with good sound ..." and he tries to leaving badly on David Coverdale, ... (I guess he couldn't give how strong to EUROPE, so then goes for the weakest) and here hits hard: "... Loss of voice, without reaching high notes and that David looks like a parody of himself" (too hard ... David's voice is certainly not the height of Joey or Joe Elliot , but he was amazing, was a leader and pushed through each of the songs with a lot of class so: !!) so hard that for him, the best of Whitesnake concert is: "... The band joining Joey Tempest and John Norum of Europe. The first of these, to sing and pull the chestnuts out of the fire to his idol, David Coverdale: all an allegory ..." More than a review of a concert is a superficial chronicle to the bands of the 80s ...

I'm not surprised...Rolling Stones Magazine is more into fashion than into music. Just a small step above MTV...

I pass a link with a review of the concert in San Sebastian (LA MIRADA NEGRA) that I really liked it , ... www.lamiradanegra.com/?p=22727" ... In the perception of arts, the personal subjectivity has a vital importance in giving an opinion. Could assess two different ways each of the performances we enjoyed tonight. If I go outside of my body and let my heart aside I would say EUROPE is a band as he dispatched with solvency to all their followers, who didn't walk at all fine is WHITESNAKE and its leader David Coverdale can't reach old records and that DEF LEPPARD executed perfectly, with great show and great sound, classic repertoire dreamed plagued for years by all their followers. But if I get back into my body would say that Europe is a group that is a luxury see how defend their music with the authenticity that success isn't allowed them in the '80s, that Whitesnake my hair stood on end and that despite its faults, was the performance that I liked, and that Def Leppard left me much colder than it should be a show and a repertoire full of classic. Whatever the plane in which I put any of the above statements isn't false... " " ... EUROPE today are a much more focused exclusively on their music, with a live communion with very passionate fans, but without the fever teenager who might never made them lack... " "... ... In fact, within the bands that emerged in the 80s EUROPE are one of the most active, without stagnation and with new ideas for each new release. And if anyone thinks living of rents is that you have not heard their latest works. In fact, I even wished that had appeared in the repertoire that Start From The Dark" which entitled their work back after a long break and that to me reflects much of what constitutes a new stage in the group. Few times a classical group who remain hopelessly out ask him to touch the ultimate issues, but I think their greatness as musicians is reflected in the new work, which certainly have not looked at the masses but to lovers of sincere music that Europe is proposing in their last "Bag of Bones"..."

Thank you so much "Michaela" and "Ernie Ball" for the videos, uffff I've remembered the feeling of the concert in Madrid, ... is great . In the video of SEVEN DOORS HOTEL you can see how the audience sing the chorus of the song, I remember that I was surprised and pleased to see how many people knew a song from the first album of the band and actually less well known than others. In reviews some journalists also highlighted that the band chose this song, is very good, was very well received and Joey sang it so well! (Seven doors hotels is one of my bets to be a finalist, I would say between 5 or 6 last songs of our thread "The battle of the songs: Ready or not!" Let's see!)

Having carefully read the comments about the Tour in Spain , it has to say that beyond the fantastic reviews on Norum and Tempest, there are also nice comments about the rest of the band and other aspects. Here some of them: www.maxmetal.net/2013/06/cronica-def-leppard-whitesnake-europe-madrid/" ... the talent and attitude of the band is beyond doubt …" " … Tempest is the Dorian Gray of rock and roll, never ages, is in a permanent youth, both in appearance as in attitude, …"www.rafabasa.com/2013/06/27/cronica-y-fotos-de-def-leppard-whitesnake-y-europe-en-madrid/" … CARRIE who raised sighs, moving up and made the audience participate actively. There was a magical moment, where all the chorus sang with Joey ... From those to remember! …"
www.metal4all.net/conciertos/14544-def-leppard-whitesnake-europe-palacio-vistalegre-madrid-26-de-junio-de-2013-cronica"... After "Let the good times Rock" their gift to Madrid as a brutal and furious "Seven Doors Hotel"... " www.metaltrip.com/content/def-leppard-whitesnake-europe-%E2%80%93-multiusos-fontes-do-sar-santiago-de-compostela-%E2%80%93-280613" .. The incredible staging. Europe at every concert shows that after 30 years of existence, they are not the same, is that they are better. These guys have been sitting nicely maturity…" " … Ian Haugland surrounded by dishes and boxes and machine-gunned the music with its rhythms doing together an explosive set of music and show full of energy hottest transmitted effortlessly to all of us. We moved, we did jump, not stopped chanting their songs, and we had stayed two hours with them. But it could only be for an hour. Once again this band shut the mouths of all whom 20 or 30 years ago despised them for commercial …" www.themetalcircus.com/concierto.php?id=1313"... Norum as always perfect as Haugland …"www.rafabasa.com/2013/06/24/cronica-y-fotos-del-concierto-de-def-leppard-whitesnake-y-europe-donosti/" … the inevitable end with "The final countdown" but we enjoyed, and it sounded very energetic (though the principle bombastic keyboard so famous, sounded engraving, what caught my attention, especially when Mic Michaeli is a keyboardist so valid). By the way, all crowd jumped …" " … everyone delighted to see "their EUROPE" in such good shape (that truth is that they are luxury ... and I mostly marveled Norum and Ian Haughland, battery without virtuosity but "pusher" who I've always liked "www.metaltotal.com/conciertos/251.europe-%2B-whitesnale-%2B-def-leppard.html" … Norum, Michaeli, Haugland and Levén showed how attuned they are, after all these years…"
Furthermore, there are "less friendly" things that have been written about the concerts. First about the sound, some pages tell of a sound not clear in the beginning of the concerts, assume that the acoustics of some venues was not the best and that being the first to act of having a worse sound which was improving throughout the concert. But they talk of a "sonic ball" that marred some songs. I can't confirm it, to me sounded like heaven all the time (but my opinion isn't very objective ). Also I've read and I totally agree that EUROPE deserves a better staging, obviously their performance was strongly influenced by the type of concert, after them, would act other two bands. But it was a too minimalist and dark staging, from my point of view improved by the fantastic lights that shone specially in "Firebox" Behind Ian had a tarp that concealed battery of the next band., I did not like, but it must be so. I read a review that someone wrote "he would have liked to that Joey had been sung also with Whitesnake" OK, I would have liked to have had for EUROPE the stage of DEF LEPPARD ... beautiful with a giant screen and a great gateway where the guitar was all the time ... And finally, surprised by the press says that the keyboards of Mic were recorded in the begin of TFC ... if it was so, I do not know what the reason, anyway sounded really good. In short is a luxury to read the reviews about this tour ...

I don't know if I understand you correctly, but the keyboards are playback in the intro of TFC, and have always been... Mic or Joey once said in an interview that there were 15-20 keyboards on the intro so it was impossible to play live However GREAT stuff you've collected, and the videos from Spain just show the band in the best shape ever!!
