Man TFC sounds horrible at this gig. Too guitar heavy. I would have thought their sound guy would have got the mix right by now. Some gigs its either too far one way or the other. Sounds better when the keys are driiving this song instead of muddy guitars.

(I assume that you listen to this with quality speakers?) Here, same show, better camera. I can hear lots of keys during the verses and solo....and its not even filmed in front of Mic, but more in front of Norum. So, in my opinion, i think it sounds pretty damn good!

The link does not really back anything you say up IMHO. It's still a shit mix for that gig on that song. It's annoying, sometimes the mix is perfect, other times its lacking severely the depth that the keys provide. Norums muddy guitar tone is good for his solos (helped by playing a woody LP) but for some songs, along with the dropped tuning just makes it a muddy mess and a nightmare indeed for some engineer to make something out of. Dont get me wrong, Love Europe but either Joey's vocals are hit and miss or the mix is f**ked. Cant have it right all the time....

Sure, i can see what you mean. But it also has a lot to do with the design of the venue and it's acoustics. In certain concert venues it's almost impossible to get a good mix. Things can get muddy very fast. Maybe this was one of those cases.... Another thing. From all the bands i saw live, i think Europe is doing the best job on getting a good live sound. I've been to 6 shows since 2004, both indoors and outdoors on festivals. (will see them again next week by the way! ) But everywhere i went...their mix was always good. Clear, loud but not too loud, and all instruments very present in the mix. Maybe i was just lucky, but i dont think that's a coincidence. Have you ever seen them live so you could hear for yourself?
