Well, everyone is claiming Europe sold about 12 millions of copies worldwide, but I think the actual figure is higher.
That's why:
EUROPE - 800.000.
WINGS - 1,5 million.
TFC - Some say 6. Some say 8 (Sanctuary). I think the latter figure is correct.
OOTW - 3,5 millions. For sure.
PIP - 800.000. Who knows... maybe it reached the 1 million mark after a decade.
What about 1982-1992? I think it sold about 1 million of copies worldwide or more... after all it's a Greatest Hits album! Surely 'Rock the Night: The Very Best of Europe' and countless compilations rounded it out.
We don't know about the Reunion albums, but combined they didn't reach the 1 million mark, I guess. Maybe 500.000 copies.
This way, it's safe to assume that Europe sold over 16 millions of copies worldwide.
I'm fine with that.
Quila post here:
"Hehe...
SFTD is a gold album in sweden and that is 30 000 albums so i guess the album sold more than 10 000 copies,Dont you?
Also SS sold gold if I dont remember it wrong?
When I worked at polygram/BMG in the 90`s (92-96) the prisoners album had sold about 800 000 copies world wide so I dont think it sold 1,5 miljons today?John Norums album face the truth sold more than the prisoners album word wide in 1992.Wings of tomorrow was 1.5 miljon then anyways and the first album about 800 000 copies.I dont have the sales of the albums today but on midprice they often sold 1000-1500 copis every year in sweden. The first john norum album total control sold 200 000 copies the first year in sweden and that is more than all the europe albums exept countdown.
Maybe I can call some of my old dudes and find out how much the albums sold today..."
