Just came across this interview from last year. Joey indicates they midi'd 11 synths together to achieve the 'synth' sound and they still carry the sample today when they play live which I can believe although I do think it somewhat resembles the JX8P Brass Stab patch which they used.
Cool interview too...

Mic once said that it was a combination of a Yamaha TX-816 (8 modules of the famous DX-7 synth) combined with a Roland JX-10 I'm not 200% sure, but I seem to recall that he said it was preset no.1 on the Roland JX-10 combined with a homemade patch on the TX-816 -but you're definitaly right that it's very similar to the JX8P brass patch

It was a mix but 100% sure it was the JX80 brass stab patch. I know. I just do not know the other synth layers.
The chime chord layer used during the chorus and 2nd half of the verses Mic answered me with this:
"Hi
Originally the main "chimy" pad sound is probably a P.P.G. Wave 2.2 (or similar) maybe backed up with a tad of the Roland JX8P.
Playing live these days I'm firmly pressing the keys of the Nord Lead 3 for that sound, using a patch I created myself with love and precision;) I'm afraid you won't be able to find that sound on the preset patches of the Nord Lead if you got your hands on one.
The only advice I can give you is to find a similar sound on one of your synths and tweek those knobs 'till you feel you're close enough.
Cheers
~mic"
