I have met the guys twice: in 2010 and 2012. In 2010 I caught Mic and Joey at a bar in Santiago. As I have told you many times, Mic was very, very friendly that time while Joey was very cold. But they both agreed on taking some photos with me (you can see some on my FB page: Vonny Perez). This year it was quite weird! I had a choice to meet all guys on a M&G I coordinated with the management Group. They were extremely cold, they hardly spoke and their autographs on my BOB album were ugly, hhehehe. But later, Ian explained me they were nervous for the show it would be held an hour later. Norum didn't attend the M&G. Some days later I was invited by the Tour Manager to interview Ian & Mic at the hotel they were staying at. Ian was very nice and friendly, he didn't refuse to answer any questions I made and he even told me about Norway. Mic was friendly as usual, too. I think it was one of my best moments in my life. During that interview, I saw Norum on his way to the airport and I was very concerned about getting a bad attitude from him, I've always thought he feels too important himself, but he accepted to take some pictures with me (he even hugged me). I don't know what to think of Joey...in 2010 I was very upset due to his coldness, so I told him a bad comment. Maybe I'm crazy but I think he had his revenge this time, because he was rude at me twice: during the M&G I was pushed by the producer to go out (due to the short time), I turned over to Joey to say something but he smiled cynically and threw some kisses, just to say "politely": GO OUT! hehehhehe. Then, at the hotel, my friend wanted some pictures with him, I took it and I told him we were their fans, come back soon, etc. He was in the van, I was asking Leven why he was so serious and I remembered a friend of mine, from Colombia asked me to talk Joey about her. I tried to ask Joey to send a message to her but he grabbed my camera and forced me to stop recording. I know they needed to go to the airport...but I think he was rude at me!
Regarding Leven: many Chilean fans said he was very serious and he avoided people. Ian told me he is like an ostrich! hehhehe. I think they all are very nice but sometimes they have bad days as all common people. They're human after all! Well, despite Joey's bad attitud to me, I had a great time with them.

Vonny, From what I see on your youtube video, JTempest doesn't seem rude to me. At the contrary, he seems very friendly : smiling and relax... When I see him grabing your camera, I'm not sure it was an hostile gesture, Vonny ; it reminds me of another similar situation, some years ago : There was that great Italian Europe fan, always filming them from the first row at absolutely every show. Then one day, JTempest came to her, grabbed her camera, and began to film herself!!! She posted the video on youtube, and I found it amazing and so funny. Here, it seems to me he was just trying to do the same : he's sometimes facetious. BTW, if it was my hand and my camera that he had touched, I think I would put the camera on a shelf as a museum souvenir and never touch it anymore... And I would never washing my hand anymore, aswell!!!! Just a last word : you were really really lucky to see them all, and talk with them, and touch them, and laught with them. Are you aware of that ?

Apart from Bine, I know at least one person on this forum who met JTempest : it's our host and Friend Stein-Vidar ! I suppose we all now this picture: www.flickr.com/photos/stein-vidar/2665784434/So, stein-Vidar, how was it to meet him? Did you talk ? It was great! Yeah, I talked to him, Mic and Ian for a couple of minutes just before the gig in Lakselv. They were all very nice. I asked Joey about the next album (which would become LLAE) and he said they were about halfway done with the song writing and were going to start recording in the fall. I told Mic about my Aphasia site and he said he knew about it. Stein-Vidar, You're lucky ! Do you remember some details about what you talked about ? Concerning the fact they knew your website, that's not surprising : that was surely the only one being so well informed !

@ europemagnum: Ha ha ha and the best thing is that you will meet with him again next December ... Woow you are lucky ... @ Stein: It's great to read that MIC knows about your web APHASIA perhaps he also knows this forum, would be nice. @ Bine: Pretty photo, a dream to have a photo with Joey and John for me, so congratulations . Thanks for sharing your opinion on this forum about the band based on your experiences, is very interesting. When I write about them I draw on my feelings because I don't really know them, but this isn't your case, then your words are more valuable. I met with Joey once in Madrid on a radio when he came to present "A place to call home", I think it was in 1995, a group of fans we expected for to see him and he was very friendly with us, signing autographs and taking photos. I found a very nice guy, I said him nothing , because my english at that time was even worse than now, so hard to communicate with him but left me feeling that someone very humble, I hope it stays that way. Tomorrow, In a way, i think you're the most lucky of all to have met him at this period. Because it seems to me that JTempest in his solo era was "true". I mean : he seemed to have so much to say, in a sincere way. He was hungry of express himself as Joakim Larsson, probably. That's my favorite period for JTempest artistic expression, especailly for the lyrics, which were so rich and moving.

Yes I've met him and the guys several times... 2006 I met them 3 times during signing of records before the gigs, 2010 in Stockholm and Oxford. Oh and also had that VIP meeting at Scandic Hotel in Stockholm during the premier of their hotel room there. And all of them are very nice guys, very down to earth and fun to talk with. As I usually stand behind the camera I have to check all of my thousands of photos to see IF I can find one with me and the guys some where! Then paphoto, You're nearly a member of the Europe family !

They told me that they had seen me on the europetheband.com forum often and asked me how I liked the forum. I said it was great and that I had met a lot of great people there. Also, a week or two before the Lakselv gig, they had done a gig in Sweden where they played "Danger on the Track" for the first time since 1990, as well as the full version of "Open Your Heart" and the return of the guitar solo in "Carrie". All this in the same gig! Naturally, I talked to the guys about this and they asked, "Do you want us to play those songs night?" and added jokingly, "Nah, you don't wanna hear them tonight, do you?" I also asked them about songs like "Scream of Anger" and "Memories", and they said they were not gonna play "Memories", but Joey said they'd play "Scream of Anger" just for me. They didn't, but I was still happy that they played "Danger on the Track", "Open Your Heart" and "Carrie" with the guitar solo.

That is my opinion too.He was so natural, his lyric so sincere about all those things and feelings from real life.Maybe it was real Joakim Larsson without sunglasses and those gestures.

Someone else had fabulous meeting with JTempest : That's Michaela, in Italy and Germany ! She already posted great pictures of these events... Yes, I didn't want to spam everywhere, as I wrote about those two meetings already... But it's always such a good memory to me. For me, it has been love at first sight when I saw Joey in some old Europe's videos on youtube, in August 2011. On that very day I told myself: "I must meet that man in person!" That's how my Europe trip actually started... On May 7, 2012 I was in Milan to attend the acoustic set at La Feltrinelli: I filmed Joey and John entering the room among the crowd...my hand was shaking visibly. Even if I expected they would have had an impact on me, well..., not enough to describe the emotion...they were HUGE, they were IMPRESSIVE, they were so incredibly TRUE!!! (and incredibly handsome, btw...). My turn to climb the 4-5 steps to reach Joey and get my paper signed...oh my! Shaking legs now... come on, WTF?!!! I got angry with myself and told myself "What are you doing?! You can't be like that at your age!". But what age does all this really stop? I don't really know! The fact was that I was standing in front of Joey and he was asking me how to write my name... I couldn't believe it...he looked like a pupil looking up to the teacher trying to write down this word right...I was moved!!! On that evening, almost every girl before me took the opportunity to kiss him (italians do it better ), so I had quickly reckoned in my head - before climbing those steps - whether to do it or not I had decided that I had better take the opportunity, could you blame me for that?!! All I can remember is... my hair meeting Joey's hair and I was gone. At the Hard Rock cafè in Munich on July 26, it was very different. I was there with my kids. I took the "professional approach" and decided to grab the microphone to ask a question during the Q&A session. Then we went into this private room called "The Chapel" (LOL!) where my kids and I met Joey and John. We have had a lot of time to talk, about the Rock Of Ages concert on the day after, about Bob Geldof, about how to survive at concerts and get the first row and finally about...toilets ! Oh, dear Joey! You're human after all!!! He made me feel like we knew each other since a very long time...honestly I have not recovered yet...you can easily find myself during the day "dreaming hard" with my eyes open, LOL! But when it came to take a picture, you can call me shy or whatever...so even if I had kissed Joey two cheeks the time before, that was a sort of "coded way to greet"...while this time it was different. I didn't feel like I could get too close to him, or hug him or anything else... not because of his attitude but because these kind of gestures do have a meaning to me and I thought they would have been inappropriate. So I took some distance from him, not too much but some distance, not to make him feel uncomfortable... Well, the result has been that he actually leaned towards me! But the funny story is about my right arm and hand...can you guess where they were during this shot? No? I will tell you then... You won't believe it, but my arm was hanging up in the air behind Joey's back (in a very unnatural position)! God only knows if I would have liked to lean my hand on his shoulder or on his hair!!! but, that's the way I am...with a drink and a smile!
