As there's very interesting posts about this theme on another thread about Joey Tempest, let's begin a new one about : DID YOU EVER MEET JOEY TEMPEST ?
When ? Was it for a long while ? Did he speak with you ? What was special ? Do you have pictures ? etc. Our new German friend Bine has begun to share her experience here : Let's go on with this ! Hi girls and boys -) I`m new in this forum but not into Europe.  I know them for about 25 years. And I guess that's was the first time I met them and the last I met them till now was the promo gig in Schlosshotel Kronberg in Germany. I was wondering whether Joey has something different in his suitcase than all those black Jeans shirts?!? The two days in Kronberg were very hot and he always wears the same (ähmmm... not the same shirt but the same style of shirt- no it was not smelling- he smells like fresh shaving  ). Also he wears his sunglasses in the floors of this old castle though there were no fans (except me and my friend as Hotel guests  ) And also wearing it at the next morning during breakfast. So why ? Is it just rock star-behaving? Must say, I `would prefer his t-shirts of the 80`s where you see more skin  And I just hate these sunglasses by night and in dark rooms  So, my impression:" to keep those women far away from my skin" But I guess it won`t work |

Yeah, I talked to him, Mic and Ian for a couple of minutes just before the gig in Lakselv. They were all very nice. I asked Joey about the next album (which would become LLAE) and he said they were about halfway done with the song writing and were going to start recording in the fall. I told Mic about my Aphasia site and he said he knew about it. |

Just to answering of Chrissas post: no, I don`t think he is snobbish but not easy to get close to him. The other guys are more like they flirt with their fans, if you know what I want to say. He is also getting more close, but not on this "official" dates. I guess he don`t know what to talk. I was a naughty girl and asked him if everything is ok in his life `cause writing such lyrics in BOB I was very close to the band Dare, they toured with Europe in 1989. The boys of Dare had a good relationship to Europe. We had some good times in hotelbars and during sound checks  I still keep contact to the guys of Dare with FB And that time, it was more like: the band: "Great time... girls... fun...drinks....having good time...more girls" Joey: "oh my god, what happens here  help me to get out of that... oh it`s great...lets party....being on stage it`s just a dream..... but what the hell are that millions of screaming girls doing here? oh..god... it`s because of us.... help...help..." But that's just my impression.... could be wrong.. Attachments:

Maybe I am wrong too Bine. I can understand him cause I was involved once with famous and important persons to a gala. Actually, I was obliged to go. I was so scared with people I don't really know and inside me I was screaming to get out of this world. I felt I did not belong there. I guess in some way Joey feels that. Sometimes famous is really bad. I cannot imagine how I felt if cameras, paparazzi and fans chase me if I were famous. It's a craziness situation but this happens if you are actress or singer.
I never met any of the member of Europe and I want really to do it. The ones who have met them are very lucky!!

Woow you are lucky ... @ Stein: It's great to read that MIC knows about your web APHASIA perhaps  he also knows this forum, would be nice. @ Bine: Pretty photo, a dream to have a photo with Joey and John for me, so congratulations  . Thanks for sharing your opinion on this forum about the band based on your experiences, is very interesting. When I write about them I draw on my feelings because I don't really know them, but this isn't your case, then your words are more valuable. I met with Joey once in Madrid on a radio when he came to present "A place to call home", I think it was in 1995, a group of fans we expected for to see him and he was very friendly with us, signing autographs and taking photos. I found a very nice guy, I said him nothing  , because my english at that time was even worse than now, so hard to communicate with him but left me feeling that someone very humble, I hope it stays that way. |

Greta!Thisi is topic I've been waiting for.I never met Europe, cause they never had a concert in my country.I hope they'll finaly visit Balkan next year.
All these years I've been trying to figure out what kind of person is Joacim Larsson.So this is the right place.Thanks other members who were lucky to met them,for shering it with us

Yes I've met him and the guys several times... 2006 I met them 3 times during signing of records before the gigs, 2010 in Stockholm and Oxford. Oh and also had that VIP meeting at Scandic Hotel in Stockholm during the premier of their hotel room there. And all of them are very nice guys, very down to earth and fun to talk with. As I usually stand behind the camera I have to check all of my thousands of photos to see IF I can find one with me and the guys some where! |
