You`re right so far, that it is really annoying, that wherever you look, there are flashlights. So in that reason I really understand them. Also I understand, that making thousands of pictures with fans is a very hard job. And to cover the eyes with sunglasses don`t show, that only the mouth smiles But for ex. during the night in the castle without a crowd of fans? He was on sightseeing tour through this old castle and he wears sunglasses? I must tell, I tried to walk through this old castle just a few minutes with my sunglasses and I had to take care not to stumble across those old carpets. It's great to have new opinions in the forum, welcome to all. I think Joey uses sunglasses for try to protect himself of surroundings, he has days with a lot of promotion, interviews or meeting with a group of fans who ask for an autograph, I guess when he was 23 years this was very attractive to him but not anymore, and I understand it, is normal and logical, now enjoys with his music, concerts and his friends of EUROPE. A very hard job, pictures with fans ? I don't think so. There are many people who never work in something that like, or who earn little money doing works very hard, or who never receive an acknowledgment of any kind, and even worse there are many people who want to work and can not. Being a rock star, do what he loves in life and collect the love of his fans does not seem hard work. (but it is just my opinion)

Thank you Bune for report. That's what I tought. Someone who writes that kind of lirics just can't be a simple person. He takling about citys in ruins, digging graves and such things. Our dear Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.Full of energy on stage with all those gests we talk about,he transforms himself in shy decent guy.Not a personality you expect from Rock Star out of scene. It makes him different from others.

Now, I know it ... I guess being Joey Tempest at all times and in all places sometimes not be easy, I understand that he tries to protect himself. They (especially Ian) have given thanks to the fans for to keep them in a job they love, is very nice, I hope that these words really are loaded with content and do not forget when they are in front of fans who just want a greeting ,a kind gesture or a photo and nothing else. I've met with Joey many years ago, only one time and he was so kind, I hope it stays that way.

I just read some messages about sunglasses and I think he tries to have a style with it. I don't think he pretends to be a rock star. I did not know that blue eyes are sensitives to light. I never met him in person but some times he gives me the feeling of snob person (this feeling came from photos mostly and videos with fans). He's like "don't come closer" and he has a no warm behavior. For me, he acts like a cold in fans. Of course, he smiles, greets and took photos with fans but I have noticed that snob style. Norum, Ian and Mic are joy of life, very warm persons to fans. I have the feeling that Norum is more warmer with fans, hug them so naturally. I thank God I am not a singer but I have lived how it's to sing live in front of people. So, I understand Joey if he is tired of after shows and he left so quickly as I've seen in many videos. That's my opinion!

Michaela and me, we've begun to talk on facebook around this photo : So, we were at the point where our opinions were divergeing concerning the explicit gestures... Personnaly, I think that too explicit behaviours make of Joey Tempest a more ordinary man. Because everybody is able to do explicit gestures. But it's not everybody who can be hot WITHOUT explicit gestures, just by being there on stage, and smiling... What is you opinion, girls ? (I'm not sure boys will be interested in this question, but feel free to give your point of view too, masculine fans... ) LMFAO!!! Your facebook name is Guesswho??

I definitely don't like when JT makes "fingers". First, because when I began to enjoy EUROPE, 5 years ago, he didn't make this kind of thing. I remember when i saw for the first time the DVD "Live from the dark" that made me like this band so much, one of my thoughts was : "what an exceptional performer, this Joey tempest ! And among all his qualities, how can he look so naughty without making ANY explicite gesture ?" So, I feel a bit deceived when he's doing this ; as if it was not the same person : not anymore a kind of superhuman hero, but just a very ordinary man ... Especially as it seems to me he's encouraging the other Europe members to do the same on some photos... Secondly,However, I don't think it's towards his fans that he's doing this : It's more towards journalists, certainly. Why ? A kind of whim, probably. Perhaps it seems to him that's a "young" attitude or something like that? BUT unfortunately, as many journalists are a bit stupid, it's always THAT picture that they are choosing for their reviews about EUROPE shows - and ONLY this one, very often ! And, IMO, that a pity, because it doesn't give a good idea of what EUROPE is. The gesture, it's just an epiphenomenon, during a EUROPE concert. If people think they are going to see a rude show with Europe because they've seen this picture, they'll be disappointed, for sure : Europe is not a vulgar band. At the contrary, they are making energetic music, of course, but in the same time a kind of "refined" music, precise, well-done, elegant (althought they obviously have fun, and are cool and mischievous, and even kind of naughty boys...). So, it would be better if journalists could choose another kind of picture (like the one I've added right here under this post : the PERFECT Europe photo, in my taste...). But they won't do it as long as JTempest will do the finger. Well, as a conclusion, I'll add that I hope that J Tempest will NEVER read this post. because I think that if he does, then he'll make that gesture 3 more times, just to show who is the boss, and to tell silly fans like me that he doesn't care... Concerning my previous post : All right, I'm an old-fashioned person, no doubt... But you see, If my first contact with a picture of Joey Tempest had been the one with the finger, I would never never never had tried to search more about EUROPE, that's sure... And therefore, I would never had become a Europe fan !!! :-X (what an awful eventuality !!! )
