I have a question that I hope anyone here can answer. How many copies did Europe sell of all of their albums in Sweden? I´m particularily interessted in the first albums, but I´d like to know the sales numbers of every album, if anyone knows. Does anyone know where I can get those numbers?

I don't have any concerte numbers, but I remember a Swedish TV commercial for Almost Unplugged where the announcer stated that Europe had sold "more than half a million albums" in Sweden.

 As far as I know - TFC, OOTW and PIP got PLATINUM status in Sweden. LLAE, BoB and "RTN-the very best" got GOLD status. nowadays Gold means more than 20.000 copies, Platinum more than 40.000. i think before 2002 Gold status was achieved with more than 40.000, Platinum with more than 80.000 copies. so more than a half million in Sweden concerning the whole discography seems pretty realistic to me, if you add the rest of the back catalogue.  Since TFC was the most successful I'd say that one alone sold more than 100.000 copies there.

Take a look here. I don't know the sources of the figures but I remember that the there was some work behind. The webmaster linked periodical updates to the official forum some time ago. It seems like it's not updated tought. |
