After a number of times playing it, a few thoughts. I think the song is a grower and gets better the more you hear it. I know it's a tribute to Joey's father, but the break where he sings.."I still remember the day My father said" really kills the momentum of the song and would probably have been better edited out and is really my only complaint with the song. The groove sounds a lot like parts of the unreleased track "Beautiful Disaster." It's a good song but like others have said...it's not mind blowing or going to dethrone any of their top tier tracks. I doubt it would be anything more than an album track if it were on a full length release.

That break indeed interrupts as a groove killer and moreover is very similar to the break in Always the pretenders!
Curious to hear the live version, hopefully making a debut tonight in Lausanne.

The song is definitely a grower, and I actually like the break.

I will accept that in this song, as he needed that emotional release. o.o

The song is definitely a grower, and I actually like the break. Comes off much better live to my ears than the recording does. Sort of the same way I feel about Ready or Not. It's an okay song on the album, but much better live.

To me that break is what saves the song from being mediocre. Thanks to the break you get a nice twist and building up to the chorus. Just what a bridge needs to do. If that break wasn't there it would've been plodding along all in the same tempo and riff. Just my two cents though

Definitely has a harder edge live, which I prefer. I'd agree it's a grower, wasn't that enamoured the first time I heard it, but found myself humming it a few times since

I'd agree it's a grower, wasn't that enamoured the first time I heard it, but found myself humming it a few times since It often happens to me : songs I'm not fond of at the beginning become the ones I like the most after a while (and sometimes I'm quickly fed up with the songs I liked at the first listening...) Maybe it's because some songs are more elaborated, so "richer" : there's a lot to discover in it. Then, because Europe are amazing performers, these songs played live can show all their strength.
