40th Anniversary of EUROPE winning Rock-SM!

40 years ago on this day, December 12, 1982, EUROPE took part in the televised final of the Swedish talent contest Rock-SM (loosely translated to Swedish Rock Championship). They played two songs, "In the Future to Come" and "The King Will Return". They won awards for Best Singer (Joey Tempest) and Best Guitarist (John Norum)... And they also wound up winning the entire contest! The first prize was a record contract and the rest, as they say, is history.
