Hi guys. As you know, I'm a fan of EUROPE. I have been that way, on an active basis, since July of 1997. But there's also another thing I've been a fan of for a LONG time. That is the world of professional wrestling, namely World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE. The funny thing is that, one day, I was scrolling through a match results page, and came across an unusual entry in it. WWE, which was back in 1993 the World Wrestling Federation, or the WWF, held a TV taping for their weekly show 'WWF Superstars' at the Halifax Metro Centre, now the ScotiaBank Centre, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The show was taped on Monday, May 24, 1993, for broadcast on Saturday, June 19 of that same year. During the several-show taping, which lasted for I think between 4 to 6 hours, the main WWF Superstars would face off against those who were known as 'enhancement talent', or 'jobbers', to help prepare for a major pay per view match later on down the road. One such 'enhancement talent' on that taping day was someone named the same as the EUROPE lead singer. But, well, it's not the same person WE here know. Check below to see what I mean, and I apologize for the time bar and other clutter in the shot. Now, who was his opponent that night? The one pictured below. His name is visible on the video wall behind him. He was from Kona, Hawaii, U.S.A. as well, with his birth name being Brian Adams. Unfortunately, THAT JT did not beat Crush that night. He lost when Crush submitted him with the Cranium Crusher hold(hands pushing on both sides of head). Stein, I wonder what you think of seeing this crazy piece of WWE history, in addition to everybody else here? O.o XD

I stumbled across this info a few years ago when Googling Joey Tempest. It's certainly an interesting piece of trivia! What if Brian Adams had used his birth name... Imagine if someone told you there once was a wrestling match between Joey Tempest and Bryan Adams! I do have to wonder if Joey Tempest the wrestler was a EUROPE fan and decided to name himself after Joey, as a tribute, or if his choice of name was just pure coincidence. Off topic for a bit; while I'm not a big fan of wrestling, I do enjoy the YouTube series UpUpDownDown, where various wrestlers from the WWE get together to play video games.

Yeah, really, Stein....though I don't think a match between Joey and Bryan, the musicians, would be the kind of 5-star classic that a Shawn Michaels vs. UnderTaker from WrestleMania 25 would be. XD In terms of the name that the jobber had, I think it was given to him by Vince McMahon, before the tapings began, though I don't think Vince had any knowledge of EUROPE at all. He probably just thought of it at random. o.o And in terms of me being a fan, I've been one since March of 1991, at the age of 9, and have seen action from WWE, WCW, ECW, NJPW, Impact Wrestling, AEW, in addition to a LOT of others. And my favorite all-time talent? The UnderTaker, since Saturday, Feb. 29, 1992. =) So, that's me in a nutshell on that, Stein. XB
