I just discovered that the officialy uploaded video for "The Final Countdown" has been remastered! Previously its highest resolution was 480p, but now it's 1080p!

Good....now it's time for ALL of EUROPE's videos to get the 1080p treatment, which, yes, includes 'In The Future To Come' and 'Always The Pretenders'. Hell, maybe give them the 4K treatment too, to make them REALLY pop. TFC in 4K? I'd be on board with that. =) And the screenshot I got from the TFC video, where Joey's eyes are open wide. Even then, he was watching things very closely. XB

Sorry, but it seems like you've all been fooled by the resolution of the video file here. All that's really happened is that they've reuploaded it with less digital compression. That still amounts to some more clarity which is welcome, but this is not a new transfer in true HD (which is entirely possible to achieve, they just haven't gone that far). It's 480p with a 1080p output. You can lower the stream to 480p and suffer no quality loss to see for yourself, apart from mayble slightly harsher compression applied by YouTube itself post upload.
This is basically the same as the Rock The Night DVD. Which leaves more to be desired even for an SD transfer in my opinion.

Unfortunately, TFC was shot on tape. That's mean the video resolution will be limited to 576i. So the video was just deinterlaced and upscaled. {More info :}

Yes, the music video is definitely on video tape. I was previously under the impression that it might have been shot at film and then transferred to tape, but watching again I don't really much evidence that. Besides, there's no way they'd redo the post production even if they had kept a film master.
I was curious about In the Future to Come as it was shot before they signed with CBS. It uses a lot of warfare stock footage shot on film which fades in and out of the performace making it a tad more difficult to tell. Unfortunately I believe it's all video as well.
I believe that leaves us with On The Loose (the movie), which I don't see happening. I didn't look into Europe In America, but I think Europe would have to be a bigger band today for such a project to be undertaken regardless.

I think In the Future to Come was shot on flim because I can see some flim grain and flim dust even on the band’s performance footage. But it’s hard to tell that whether they’ll remaster it or not, seeing it as less popular than TFC.
