Welcome to the Nothing Shocking Podcast Episode 102. Our guest this week is Joey Tempest from the band Europe. Europe has a new album out now called “Walk the Earth.”zpnetwork.com/joey-tempest-of-europe/Very good interview, especially about the setlist for the upcoming tour: Interviewer: You do have those classic albums with all those hit songs on them, and then you have the new stuff which is phenomenal. How do you do a setlist? Joey: I know. This is a very crucial question because we [the band] have actually talked about this. We've talked about it quite a lot this year, because we like our new albums and the fans seem to like a lot of songs on them as well. So what we're trying to do is devise maybe two to three different setlists. That's our next plan anyway. Sometimes EUROPE's plans never... they don't really come through when it comes to changing songs. We're kind of stubborn, we like to play what we like to play. But if we manage to get two to three setlists going, then we can alternate and we can play more songs, new songs and old songs. And we can make ourselves feel a bit more excited, because, well, "tomorrow we'll play the number 2 list or next day we're gonna go back to the number 1 list, or we're doing number 3 two days in a row because we love it..." So that's what we're trying to devise now, because it is becoming kind of a problem to do the setlist, especially since we have six new albums that have some good songs on them. This is very good news and something I've been hoping for EUROPE to do for a long time.

Sounds killer to me!! Since they have so much great material to choose from they have to come up with a (sort of a) plan like Joey says. And by judging the setlist from Santander I dare say they are on their way!
