New songs during the soundchecks ?

During the soundcheck before the show in Carcassonne, it happened something very strange :
I couldn't recognize most of the songs !!
I was at the restaurant, and so the sound was far and weak. But I was able to identify "War of Kings" for instance. And then nothing else : No "supersticious" or this kind of song Europe plays at every soundcheck.
In fact, all the songs sounded unknown to me...
At the end,I told my husband : "well this is not Europe finally; it's another band, but so incredibly good !! Just like Europe..."
So, I would like to know if someone else noticed this fact at another show.
Because there's 2 solutions :
-Or EUROPE played songs from their new album, in a kind of live rehearsal (and I was stupidly trapped in this stupid restaurant during this fabulous event !).
-Or I'm turning deaf (or idiot...) !!!
