I'm pretty happy with what I heard through the Planet Rock link. I think it will be better when I/we can listen to it straight thru and not broken up, having to click on the individual links. There's something to like for all Europe listeners on this one, but as advertised, different than anything they have done before.

The theme of democracy seems to feature quite a bit in this album...almost a bit like it could have been a concept album

I got the album in the mail today. And in the cd cover it says «Additional Background vocals on Walk the Earth: Jamie Larsson» (Joey’s son) So that’s really cool!!

I just received an email from iTunes saying that my pre-order for Walk the Earth was ready for download! So now I'm going to just sit back and listen to the entire album.

My least favourite album along with bag of bones. My favourite album cover art however. Stand out tracks for me are only WTE and Kingdom United which is VERY Thin Lizzy and has some great vocal harmonies layered in there which I wish we lots more of instead of vibrato in Joeys vocals. Am I disappointed? Yep but it’s what Europe wanted to do so can’t do much about it really.

Well, I've listened to the whole album now and... Is it my least favorite Europe album? Maybe. The songs I really like are "The Siege", "Pictures" and "GTO", but as for the rest of the album... Sorry for being a downer.

Yes it's a good album but for me it doesn't compare to War of Kings. Some of the riffs and songs are a bit similar to my ears. No instrumental and no ballad really. Not as melodic as I hoped but great to have vocal harmonies, great production sound, lots of hammond are plus points

I forgot to state my cons for this album: similar riffs on some of the songs, and rushed solos on Norum's part; I get this feeling he recorded them in his first or second take. However, it's a great album for my taste, I was really taken by surprise of their approach. The production is superb, Cobb really was a crucial member those two weeks in the studio. I'm glad they're trying out some new stuff with their 70s based influences, and I'm also glad that this album will probably live up to its expectations as people dive deeper into the main theme and the dynamic, on-the-edge pace

I could explain many things about this album, but it would be useless, so I'll just say I like it more than Europe's 80s albums (except TFC) but less than the post-reunion ones. Also, I like it more than APTCH and Azalea Place but less than Joey's solo album released in 2002. And here's my final veredict: GTO 9,7 Whenever You're Ready 9,4 Pictures 9 Kingdom United 8,9 Walk The Earth 8,6 The Siege 8,4 Election Day 7,9 Turn To Dust 7,3 Wolves 7 Haze 6,8 ---------- Rating overall: 83% It looks like a good rating but considering I've already rated 17 albums this year over 88% there's a difference. I've just posted the list in the "Other Discussion" section of the forum.
