I had a very weird dream last night - I actually heard some of the new songs that are on the album From what I can recall, some stuff is a sort of successor to WoK, middle-tempo songs but much more melodic, and I remember the last song on the record being extraordinary, a combination of classical rock and epic, world music. Anyway, that's just my fantasy working, I remember having a similar dream prior to the release of WoK, and I'm pretty sure I have heard some version of 'Hole In My Pocket' then

Thanks, I really need to learn Swedish. Life would be much better. I think I got the general idea of the conversation

Tonight speaking with a friend and after an attack of nostalgia I have said that I want to see the Europe of LOVE CHASER or HEART OF STONE in this album, ... obviously renewed but we need to recover some fantastic melodies, in this second time we have also had them as in START FROM THE DARK or WAKE UP CALL .... well, it's just a thought.

Indeed Eva! Would love to hear some classic melody lines in the next album rather than just 'guitar riffs' which has been most of the last couple albums worth of material. You don't have to hark back to an '80s' sound (as much as I would like Europe to do so!) to achieve a nice melody line led by a guitar/keyboard combo. When STFD came out I really kind of questioned the songs given it was so different to the Europe we were used to BUT as the years have past, I have come to rank that album in my top Europe albums because of the fact there are some awesome songs in there with classic flavours.

I agree with both of you Eva Tomorrow and xxxx. In my view a drastic steering is necessary as the blues experience has given all its fruits. I am not thinking to a U-turn but I'm convinced that Europe should try to retrieve the spirit and the style that has marked their path before Bag of bones. As xxxx I also was kind of skeptic when SFTD came out but in few months I totally fell in love with it. This has not happened with BoB, an album that I respect but that doesn't give me thrills. War of kings was much better but it didn't last as long as SFTD, SS or LLAE. I hope that TFC celebration tour has sort of refreshed the inspiration. But I confess that I am not very positive about that.

But I confess that I am not very positive about that. Oh yeah! SS and LLAE had some awesome melodies, I thought with LLAE with 'New Love in Town' we were heading down the right path in terms of where we might see Europe heading. Bag of Bones is my least played album (in fact only about twice after it was released, never gone back) even though I think BOB cover art is one of the best they have done. WOK has some glimpses of that classic Europe DNA but it was over (or under) processed with them trying to capture that 'raw' royal blood feel which just is kinda cool for those sort of bands...I just feel Europe isn't that kind of band. Not should they shy away from what made them who they are really.
