classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2015-12-18/europe-consider-blues-vibe-for-album-no-11 Here's the interview. Now, personally I wouldn't want Europe to go back to their "Bag Of Bones" sound (not that I don't like it) but it's just something they did and maybe they should move on. Although, a good hint is that they may add certain elements of soul music (I was also thinking of that direction some day ago), something Europe haven't done yet. Having all this laid down I feel they'll have a 'Rival Sons' sort of sound. Right now Rival Sons are one of my favorites (I started listening to them after Dave Cobb got on board for WoK, after all ) and it would be interesting to see Europe going in that direction. However, if they go that direction I would expect to put ALL of their hearts and souls in the songs + the catchy stuff Europe is recognized for. It may be an extraordinary combination, after all.

Yes,thank you philreeves. A blues vibe ? Why not ? It would fit perfectly Joey Tempest's nowadays voice. However, it already happened in the past that they talked about a music style for their next albums, and finally did something different... One thing is sure : after the excellent WOK, the bar has been set very high. Difficult to do better than this !

You're welcome, guys. I agree that after WoK the bar is set really high, but what gives me assurance is that some of the song ideas that Joey mentions are somewhat in a certain stage of creation; in other words, (hopefully) more time, energy and effort are spent starting from now and when they hit the studio in September/October 2016 they'll have a well-prepared material. BoB and WoK were more on-the-road and naturally developed into what they are now - I'm sure we'll feel the time and soul put in the next album

To be honest, when I read "blues vibe" it gives me a little afraid I'm in love with War of Kings, let's see what happens! But all my trust in the talent of the band ...
On the other hand, Joey confirms in the interview if Dave Cobb will be the next producer of the album? I really like, but I'm not sure I've understood

On the other hand, Joey confirms in the interview if Dave Cobb will be the next producer of the album? I really like, but I'm not sure I've understood I have total confidence in the guys about the next project. Given the fact that Dave will produce it certainly gives an inspirational boost, so to speak. Thinking about the sound - maybe it's time to shake that mid tempo off the songs from WoK and add some energy, sexy beats and vibrant atmosphere. Fingers crossed!
