Got two things I wanted to say about it. Firstly, it feels like a "we've struggled to get here, the landscape has changed, thank you so much, dear fans, for helping us bring it all home" it feels like a true aporwciation to US.
Second... The guitarsolo reminds me of supetstitious, hero, and a soli from LLAE.. Little bits of each. Like a history book being sifted through really fast... It also feels like a goodbye. But this is NOT the end. Not with this killer album!!

Indeed is a song about ending...
According to Joey on Fireworks interview:
"This song came about from San Francisco in 1990 when me and Mic wrote ‘New Love In Town’, it came from the same jam sessions me and Mic had. We came up with ‘New Love In Town’ and we came up with this one but they obviously didn’t sound like that and they obviously weren’t recorded like that, they were just sort of sketches. Lyrically...”
Is it a song for the fans?
“Yes. In a way it is. Because the song is meant to be played as the last song ever by this band. So, it’s meant to be played at the last show, as the last song, of this band.”
“Yes, it’s the end song of all end songs. A farewell song of all farewell songs. And it incorporates back into the band. Thank you to the fans, you know, the people that support us, everything. But the idea came when I watched ‘The Last Waltz” with Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Band’, Martin Scorsese the film he directed called ‘The Last Waltz’ and it’s about Robbie Robinson and ‘The Band’ and they played their last concert. It’s very simple. I mean I just watched that movie for some reason lately, I was with a couple of guys from the hotel, and it’s an old movie and some cool guys come up and play with the band, Neil Young, Van Morrison and the idea just came. Why not write a song that’s meant to be for the afterlife, meant to be played as the last song. So whether we play it now or not, that’s the question. That’s the idea of it anyway.. it’s a great song, I mean I like it. I love it. It’s a lovely song.”

Yes, I don't want to hear it played live ever!
(At least not in the next 20 years or so ...)
No turn unstoned ...?

haha. Yes I hope they will play it in 2020.. there must be a real ending this time, not like they did in 92. But somehow it feels it will happen sooner

It's probably just me, but the piano sounds to me somehow off-key just after Joey sings ''all the truth'' in the first verse, about 28 seconds in. Maybe that was just a deliberate minor notes to make a more melancholic mood..

Yes, I agree. I hear similarities to 'Hero' in the bit of dual guitar sound, and also I hear a bit towards the end that reminds me of part of the solo in 'Carrie'

Their farewell song MUST be The Final Countdown!
Mother nature, sow the seeds
Modern nation bleeds
Under the kosmos we breathe!

This song is clearly very similar to "New Love in Town", and as Fernanda mentioned, it was written at the jam sessions along with NLIT. Indeed, it's like a farewell song. I'd say, a WORRYING song (for us)

I don't like to think that way about it but I thought the same thing when I heard it on the radio show. That was my first impression, who are they saying goodbye too...... us? Probably completely wrong though, I have only heard the song once.
In any case though its a beautiful song and I really like it!
