Joey has done on here what we are basically doing in our "Battle of the songs"! Being a huge fan of Thin Lizzy he is commenting his favourite songs from the band giving his insights and talking about his personal memories... It makes me smile when he talks about him meeting and talking to Phil Lynott for the first time: Joey was excited and a bit afraid of having asked Phil a silly question... and then Joey's relief when not only Phil thanked him for the question but answered politely... That meeting had a huge impact on him and on how he tries to be friendly to his fans... Very, very nice reading! www.teamrock.com/features/2015-11-19/the-10-best-thin-lizzy-songs-by-europe-s-joey-tempest

Absolutely wonderful, ... Really interesting to see Joey in the other side, ... See him "on our side" the side of admiration the musical idols. And especially cool the meeting of Joey with Phil Lynott, ... that exciting moment in front of your idol and when you don't know what to say? something that does not sound stupid or senseless and it's really difficult. I remember when I greet the guys in London gave them my hand and was very nervous thinking about what to say and I can only say "I'm happy" LOL ... ok was not very original sentence , but it was so, and they smiled and were very friendly as well as Phil whether all my gratitude to them. Thanks for share it Stefania.
"... But the lasting memory of that night was that I got to meet Phil Lynott in person. After the show, he was standing by himself next to the dance floor just looking a bit forlorn. I just couldn’t let this moment go to waste. Nervous as hell I walked the 10 metres across the dance floor (which felt like two football pitches) to reach the man himself. I asked him something like, 'I really love your voice and your singing, but I’m just curious, did you ever consider having a singer in Thin Lizzy?'. Of all the silly questions! But what the hell, it was done and I was sure something sarcastic would come back at me. But instead he was very humble and polite. First off he said, 'Thank you' (for my compliment regarding his singing), and then named a number of singers that had influenced him and that made him want to be a singer himself. I think I recall Fats Domino as one the names, but I was so high on life that moment I couldn’t take everything in. But one thing I took with me from that encounter was to always try your best to be friendly with your fans. Cause there I was, just a kid really, only 19 years old and my first ever experience of this kind, meeting one of my biggest heroes... and he treated me kindly! ... "

A nice top 10! I only miss Wild one. That is one of my personal fave Lizzy songs. But picking just 10 songs from their fantastic catalogue is bloody hell. Also nice to notice that Joey remembers Face the truth!
