What a great gig that was! Last time Europe played in the Rhine/Main-region they played in Mannheim in front of a rather poor crowd. Yesterday's gig at the Batschkapp was very different. I was surprised to see a rather long queue at the door when we arrived half an hour before doors opened. And the queue quickly became much longer. The crowd was rocking along nicely - even at the back of the venue where some of my friends were. During the singalong parts in Superstitious, Carrie and RtN I thought the crowd was pretty loud. So that was great! When Joey introduced a song "we can't get rid of" I thought, he would introduce Carrie (wishful thinking on my part), but instead he introduced Scream of Anger ... *lol* The only change in the setlist was when the crowd started singing Happy Birthday to John Levén and Joey asked us to sing it again in German. I know Joey sometimes mixes up the lyrics at bit, but was surprised he didn't sing the line "it doesn't get better than this" in Hole in My Pocket, which is not one of my favorites on the album, but is a great live track. And the force of Nothin to Ya simply blew me away. My feet and legs are still sore from the sheer amount of jumping I did last night ... So: I am looking forward to the Berlin gig next week! Btw: Here's Final C

Thanks steph! Glad to hear you had a good time. The only change in the setlist was when the crowd started singing Happy Birthday to John Levén and Joey asked us to sing it again in German. Nice! I know Joey sometimes mixes up the lyrics at bit, but was surprised he didn't sing the line "it doesn't get better than this" in Hole in My Pocket... That's happened a lot, actually. He didn't sing that particular line at the Oslo gig either, for instance.

This is my Last Look At Eden from the concert in Frankfurt: As you can notice I went very lateral on Leven side and the lights didn't hit me. It took 7-8 songs for Joey to spot me and at that point what an expression he had on his face! Actually this was my arm... Praise You - I won't forget and won't tell more... Rock The Night - Joey descended the stage and delivered some guitar picks to the kids on the first row. Then as last he came in front of me and put his pick directly in my hand. As all Lords, he has had some good thoughts for kids and the old women in the crowd, who wouldn't have caught it if thrown! No, no I am just joking... I am SO GRATEFUL for what he did, actually, that I couldn't descend cloud nine for several hours after that. What a night!
