It's another thing with this track regarding the mid-tempo discussion - it has a groove, which can't be said about songs like The Second Day or Only Young Twice, for instance. I think most of the songs on the new album will resonate around the mid-tempo section, but they will be much heavier and grandiose, with a sort of a bigger backbone, as Ian mentioned. BTW me and my brother were discussing the keyboard intro of Walk the Earth and I think we're not the only ones getting the vibe from Words of Wisdom intro

It will probably include video material from the recording process. I have pre-ordered it, I am very curious in hearing and feeling the vibe of the studio, so we'll see what happens. The jewel case (standard audio CD) is also available at Amazon UK).

I just had this idea this morning - what if the first 3 tracks are interconnected regarding the subject of the migrant crisis in Europe? Those people WALK THE EARTH, settled into the big countries, creating THE SIEGE among the old settlers, who are rising up to bring back the old glory of their KINGDOM UNITED (the KINGDOM being maybe UK).
I think it's a interesting idea and a solid, opening concept.

I agree with the guys above. Given that WtE will be released around the same time this gig commences, it's kinda differently proportional, and a not a good way to kick off an era of a new, potentially eponymous album. I don't wanna badmouth any of the lineup artists, but I think Europe nowadays are few scales above the 'competition', both in quality and consistency. Many, if not most of them, are dragging on their past glory. Although I think it won't cause any permanent damage (the English crowds are quite familiar with the new Europe), still it's not a good move, not even if it's a charity, but we'll see what happens.

On the official website, it says that there'll be samples of the songs soon. BTW I was thinking about it the other day, and I think if they decided to name the upcoming album 'Kingdom United' it would be a great sequel to WoK, as they've mentioned that they're similar sound-wise, with more backbone going into WtE

As a bass player, I applaud Leven's punchier and richer sound in the mix. What a performance, one of their best so far!

I've found some interesting information regarding the style of the album on several sites, for instance on this one: www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=136231I'm not sure if it was shared before, but here are some of the details: "...From the anthemic sound of the opening track, "Walk The Earth," to the heavy vibe that is "Haze," from the instant melody of "Election Day," to the lyrical content of "Kingdom United," "Walk The Earth" is the album that should see Europe rightly acclaimed as a band at the height of its powers. The wonderful melodies and depth of Joey Tempest's vocals along with a powerhouse rhythm section and the guitar playing of John Norum, one of the great underrated guitarists. Norum's guitar playing shines across the record. This is an album that is big in its scope and sound. Much like previous album "War Of Kings," "Walk The Earth" is an album that has instant appeal but is also an album that needs to be lived with, in order to uncover its depth." Stein, maybe you can transfer this in another section, I just hurled this here the moment I saw it.

I can't describe the hype I'm feeling about this album! It might be irrelevant, but some time ago, I came up with the idea of the album being called 'The Grand Fallout' and I think tracks like 'Kingdom United' and 'Election Day' will be in the style in which I think/thought the whole album will move (according to 'The Grand Fallout' logic) - mysterious, grand and heavy. Seeing all the tracks and the listing I say it could be some sort of a concept album, which will be great. We are yet to hear the first single to get to know the direction of the album to some sort. I just feel it in my bones that this one will be a masterpiece and one of the best albums for 2017; Ian also said that it's their best yet, Joey mentioned that they've done something 'really special' !

I don't like it from what I've heard so far. Too generic songs in every aspect, although the solos are fine and Kee-recognizable. The production is mediocre and it sounds like any other hard rock band that is just coming out nowadays. I don't wanna guess anything, but I think this is why Europe didn't reunite with Kee; probably he was pushing for this direction and play it safe and didn't wanna explore new territories. Europe are getting better and bolder sound-wise and are past the 'return-to-fame' 80s melodic hooks (which sound quite odd in these modern times), but, of course, taste differs from person to person
