IMO that's how 'Got to Have Faith' would sound like if it came out around the WoK/WtE era.

I honestly have no idea what they will sound like on the new album, but I would agree on a more modern touch on the next one (not too much, the warm 70s sound suits them well). I like the Dave Cobb approach and I am a big fan of his, but I miss some of the Secret Society sound. If they can keep the themes from WtE flowing into the next one (concept album; Joey, looking at you ) and add a bit of flavor of SS, then I'm a happy guy

Great review and ranking! He shows great knowledge of the band. I agree almost 100% with his ranking, only I would put 'Secret Society' in the top 5, and maybe 'Bag of Bones' would go down a bit, but that's one's personal taste. I am especially happy he ranked "Walk The Earth" so high, my personal favorite so far.
Thanks for sharing, Stein!

I am not a big fan of these reaction videos, but it was nice seeing Beth smiling at Joey's voice naturalness and warmth.

I have many discussions with my friends about the 80s and I always tell them to check out Europe's last couple of albums or so... Many of them are surprised of how great musicians they've become, and they're not relying on their past. IMO they're way better than their peers these days, continually romping like a steamboat!
Frankly, I can't understand artists like Kee who are pushing their glory days right under our noses in a 'revisited' or 'remixed' bundles. Why not move along and try something else instead of making a parody of yourself?
And btw, the day Europe sign a contract with Frontiers Music will be the day I lose all hope on Earth xD

IMHO I think they should part ways with Patric... I think the last videos are getting pretty predictable with the shots of the band and stuff. It's not that the man is not talented, it seems like Europe should experiment with other directors who might catch their magic better than Patric does. I perfectly understand that they don't care too much about how their videos are going to turn out (Joey mentioning the rock band stuff they're doing with the music and all, going past their posing years), but that's just my two cents on the matter. I totally agree with you ... but what if the band wanted this common thread in their videos ? what if the band wanted some repeated features as a signature for their videos !? I'm just asking and it would be interesting to have some comments from the band members I find it a little bit repetitive, nevertheless this last one has struck me a little bit more than the others. I see what you mean. They're not into appearances or stuff like that these days, but if you're actually doing a video - why not experiment a little? I'm fine with the whole 'band performing' concept they're pushing, I just think there could be someone out there who can bring out their awesomeness in a whole new light.

Boy, this gig was awkward! I had a feeling like I have traveled 30 something years ago in the past and something went horribly wrong - with all the kitsch stuff from the hosts, and (sadly, I have to say) the audience. Aside from the fact that it was getting late, late in the evening (pun intended ), they seemed to react only to a few songs from the past that were stuck in their heads. I was really set off by their beat skipping when they sang along with Joey, not to mention the awkward camera shots from the director, mainly focusing on a few people from the crowd. Next come the technical issues (I know it happens, it's only RnR ), and the award 'ceremony'. Jesus Almighty, did Joey felt uncomfortable during those couple of minutes! Maybe it's a big thing for them, but I think the band should've been awarded post-show, that way they wouldn't have interrupted the flow of the gig; I think the band felt the same. On the bright side, I really enjoyed hearing the new tracks from WtE live, they felt gigantic and proved to be a serious ass stomp. Maybe it's too early for them to catch on to audiences like this one, but it would be a shame for this album to go unnoticed around the world (not that the band hasn't picked up a few awards for it already ) Last but not least, I didn't want to offend anyone from Chile/South America with this opinion on the gig, people only want to have fun, that's for sure. I just think people over there need to shift from the 80s gear they've been stuck in. It's over, it's been done, you now have a fantastic band who's getting better over time

I think I saw this one coming, I just hope they continue with the same success rate in the future.
