John Norum at #18 of the "BEST 100 GUITARISTS" according to Sweden Rock Magazine! Check it out! Micke Åkerfeldt: I'm pretty proud of Europe. Europe and Yngwie were exports from Sweden. Norum is for me not only a Gary Moore copy. He likes Gary, but he mixes in a little of the Neoclassical, this Swedish folk tone of his game. Mixed with the pentatonic, as it is called. Bluesplay but a little faster and a fucking fiiire. He is underrated. Mappe Björkman: Underrated? He is still mentioned pretty much. Micke: Not for a long time. Not after he jumped of Europe. He has the integrity that guy. He dropped out of Europe just before it banged of, because he thought "Now that's enough, this is too cheesy for me". He wanted to play more Schenker-ish. Mappe: He is a nice combination of their influences, Michael Schenker, Uli Roth and Gary Moore. As a Swedish guitarist, he is extremely cool and internationally, he is very respected, so much respect to Norum. Micke: A nice guitar traditon.
