ent, to reduce the voting period down to just 2 days is a great idea. could you make this rule general?  because it's much faster & easier to choose 2 songs out of 4 or just 1 of 2 (final rounds) than 8 out of 14.  You bring up a good point. The pace of the game is a delicate matter and it's hard for me to understand where's the perfect balance (I thought a lot about this issue also in the old battle). It's true what you say, that if we reduce the voting time the game runs faster and its enjoyability is increased. But I'm afraid that this way we would miss some votes and I think that collecting as many votes as possible is a priority (I suppose to have stressed this point quite a lot in my previous posts  ). A longer session gives also the opportunity to share more discussions and, in my humble opinion, this is also an added value of the thread. I enjoy counting the votes and feel the thrill of the battle as much as I like reading people's thoughts and reflections. My idea would be to keep the 4 days window for the next Phase two (where we will choose four songs out of eight for each group). Then we could switch down to a three days time, and even less as we approach to the bitter end. But I'm very open and happy to listen to any advice so please, friends, let me hear your opinion on this matter. ah, almost forgot  My vote for the extra group: Tower's calling because I love the AOR attitude in this one; Treated bad again because we cannot treat it bad again. |

Time is running fast towards the end of the Phase One.
There's only a little more than one hour left to save the last songs...the fight grows harder, none of the four songs still in contest for the extra group wants to be left behind. If you have already provided your vote you can do nothing but cross your fingers. If you haven't, well...it's all in your hand. Just vote.

Hello Aphasians  The time for saving the songs of the extra group is expired and I declare officially closed the Phase One  . It’s been a hard fight, very fast (sorry for the users that did not make it in time), but in the end we have elected the last two songs that join the group of the greatest 64. Tower’s callin’ 7I’m sorry for the Spanish alliance  , and also for boeing72: they have lost both their chosen tracks for just one vote! But that’s how tie-breaks go and, after all, that's the battle. And it’s not over. Not at all. Infact... Yes! We did it!  We eventually got to select the favorite 64 songs of the Aphasia forum  . Allow me a short disclaimer: as I have explained also in the old battle it must be underlined that this choice is a compromise among the opinions of many users and of course no one of us will be entirely happy with this selection. As a matter of fact we have all lost many of our personal favorite. But this was our choice as a community, today in 2015, and, if it can dry some tears, just think that our love for the songs left behind is a measure of how great are ALL the songs of the best-band-ever. So, what about taking a look at the greatest 64? Here they are, already distributed in the groups for the next phase: Group A

Cool selection, isn’t it?  Ok, a few words of explanation. I distributed the songs in the eight groups above taking into account only two factors: their ranking in the groups of phase one (to avoid that too many of the most voted songs ended up in the same group) and their distribution in the groups of phase one (to avoid matching songs that have already faced each other). Aside that, it’s all about fate, I ran a random software and that was the result. You will notice that there is no balance between songs pre- and post- reunion nor with regard to the albums they come from. They’re just mixed up. This is the spirit of this new battle (only young twice): the songs are all at the same level, they just fight for their own, let’s see which ones will surface. This was in short, not to bore anybody. If someone is curious about the details, just ask. Now the battle becomes serious. We’re about to start the terrible PHASE TWO, aimed at selecting the fantastic 32! Do you think it’s been hard so far? Well, now it gets worst. Some choices are just impossible but I trust your bravery. Are you ready to start? Here we go, let’s start with the Group A:

This group includes 5 songs from the first stage and 3 from the second. Immortal classics, successful singles, touching ballads and furious rockers. They are eight and we have to select just four of them. Can you handle it? The rules: - Pick up your favorite FOUR songs from the Group A (it is strongly recommended to listen to them once again: not only for deciding the best ones, but also to grant yourself some moments of deserved pleasure); - Take your time to decide, enjoy life, kiss your beloved ones, have some good food and make some sport, but be sure to post your vote within next Monday, November the 9th at 22.00 CET; - It really doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl, if you’re young or old, if you’re a member of this forum since a long time or if you’ve decided to join just now. It’s not important if you have already joined the battle or if you think that you will vote just once and then goodbye (BTW you’re still in time, with just one vote, to partecipate to the final raffle to win one of the prizes kindly offered by Eva Tomorrow). The important thing is that, if you’re a member of this forum you’re entitled to join the battle and help your songs. And if you want to join the battle (and of course contribute to all the other fantastic threads of the forum) you simply have to sign in. That’s really just it. I think this gets really difficult I have no idea about choose 4 songs, well actually my problem is what 4 songs leave  ?

participants in this battle that between all of you even who has participated just once, will raffle at the end of our battle, when we'll have our winner, three batches with small objects of the band, are little things guys, but I think that would be interesting to have it for a loyal europe fan like us and I will be happy that one of you, will have it.
