Yes, in some ways it's similar to "Last Look at Eden", but I still like this video.  Personally I like it better than "New Love in Town", "Not Supposed to Sing the Blues" and "Firebox". ...Though I do wonder if they will get another director for the next videos. They've said that they prefer to work with a different producer for each album, so why not get a different director for each video as well? I think they don't change the director because there were many complaints when they released "Got To Have Faith" and "Live From The Dark", so they decided to find one that everybody likes in order to avoid more upsets. |

Yeah, I guess you're right. "Live from the Dark" was a litte disappointing production-wise, but I really like the "Got to Have Faith" video. In my opinion though, the best EUROPE video from the reunion era so far is "Hero". |

I'm not disappointed, nor excited. The song is excellent, video good.
Sincerely I expected something more, but maybe I'm too demanding. Another clip in the series without deeper meaning for me. Still waiting for a video with a story related to the lyrics like is Hero. Yes, I love it too. War of Kings was good opportunity, interesting theme, at least could be included footage accompanying the sence of the text.
Isn't bad, but still the same... 5 good-looking guys in action. This band can make it much better.
Looking forward to whole album.

Interesting press conference with some nice insight thoughts from Joey. I think I know what he means when he speaks about videos and singles and I hope he is right. But I doubt it. The most interesting thing I think is when he speaks about which and how many songs from War of Kings are gonna be played live. 4 or 5 he says. That means there's much room for songs from other albums. I hope they're sticking with some songs from Wings in the set. Like they did in Spain after the Wings over Sweden tour last year. |

But this kind of video, a sort of little movie film in a way, is really really expensive to make. And I'm not sure it would be the best thing to do with Europe : They are different, because they are so good-looking ! There isn't many bands who are both talentuous musicians and fine men... For my sake,I'm not disappointed to see Europe and only Europe in a video of Europe !  Another point : Europe is a huge band on stage, as we all know. So, a video where you see them playing live suggests that their job is to play live (there're not only a recording band, like some others...). So, this kind of video is a nice way to show who they are : good for people who still don't know them ! And last point : now that we know the trailer, we see that this video was a great instrument to make the promotion of WOK album. Very useful tool. |
